MEMORIAL AND TRIBUTE GIFTS:
You can make a gift to Vianney as an enduring tribute to a family member, friend or loved one. Your gift can be in memory of someone special or in honor of an event, such as a wedding, anniversary, birthday, graduation or other special occasion. Memorial and tribute gifts may be made as a current donation or a deferred gift.
GIFTS OF APPRECIATED ASSETS:
You may find that gifts of assets that have appreciated in value may provide several advantages. You can deduct the fair market value of qualified non-cash property and pay no capital gains tax, provided you have held the assets for more than one year.
You may also want to make a gift of an asset that can be claimed as a capital loss. If you own securities worth less than what you paid for them, you have an additional advantage. You can sell the securities, make a gift of the proceeds to St. John Vianney High School and claim a loss on the sale, as well as a charitable deduction for your gift.
