Sonic Drive-In is holding open interviews for all positions at their Kirkwood location on Saturday, January 17th from 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. This information is posted on the bulletin board near the Leadership Center.

 

This weekend was the 48th annual Vianney Wrestling Tournament for both JV and Varsity. Friday night the JV wrestling team took the mat with only 6 wrestlers out of 14 an finished 5th as a team, Out of the 6 wrestlers four placed in the TOP 4- Noah Ishmael 1st, Joe Hoffman 2nd, Joey Nelson 3rd and Rigoberto Ramirez 4th. After a great performance by the JV team the Varsity team took the mat Saturday and finished 2nd as a team with 4 champions Charlie Schott, Nick Mataya, Austin Bollinger, Cody Sturgill and three 3rd placers Grant Pinkston, Griffin Ganzand Jim Laaker ended a great weekend for the golden griffins. Great Job GRIFFINS!

 

PAINTBALL:  Anyone and everyone interested in participating in the Paintball Club's next battle, which is this coming Monday, January 19th at Wacky Warriors-East Field, please be sure to sign-up on the sheet posted to Ms. White's office door by this Wednesday!!!  If you have any questions, ask Ms. White!

 

Any student interested in working on the next student body Mass in memory of Blessed Chaminade and celebrating our Marianist Heritage is invited to see Fr.Tim or Mr. Remiger sometime this week.

Attention parents of seniors--Join a representative from the SLU Financial Aid office on Thursday, January 29 at 7 pm in the Media Center for a presentation of completing the FAFSA.  A line by line explanation will be made.

 

Seniors--Do you have a parent who is currently a member of an active, guard or reserve component of the US Army, a parent who served in the US Army , Guard or Reserve or a parent who currently works for a defense contractor or a defense agency?  The AUSA scholarship program awards scholarships from $1000 to $3000.  Check out more details on Naviance under the colleges tab or see your counselor in the Leadership Center.

 

Seniors interested in engineering--The Misoouri Society of Professional Engineers will award $1000 scholarships to students with a 3.0 GPA and an ACT of 29 in Math and 25 in English.  See your counselor in the Leadership Center for more details.  Deadline in January 23.

 

The University of Dayton is offering the Marianist Leadership Scholarship of $4000 to students with a  3.0 GPA.  The application, including the essay deadline in Feburary 17. More details in the Leadership Center.

 

Optimist International is offering an essay contest and an oratorical contest to compete for scholarships up to $2500.  More information is available in the Leadership Center.

 

Juniors interested in a career in medicine--University of Missouri offers 'Mini Medical School" a one week summer experience.  More details in the Leadership Center.
