THIS PAST WEDNESDAY THE VARSITY CHESS TEAM DEFEATED VALLEY PARK BY THE SCORE OF 22 TO 8.  DAN OWENSBY, MARSHALL HARNEY, GAGE KRAMER, CONNOR GRZOVIC AND GAVIN HENSEL WON FOR VIANNEY.  THE JUNIOR VARSITY CHESS TEAM DEFEATED THE BELLEVILLE EAST VARSITY TEAM BY THE SCORE OF 16 TO 14.  SAM NELSON, JACOB FARRELL AND ALEX FOLEY WON FOR VIANNEY.

Congratulations to both varsity and JV wrestling teams on their big win over DeSmet last night.  Great job Griffins!

Congratulations to senior Nick Mataya who was selected as the Lettermen's Club athlete of the month for December.  Nick has distinguished himself as one of the premier wrestlers in St. Louis.  He has captured first place honors in two different tournaments and currently has a 28-2 overall record.  Congratulations Nick!

 

Ultimate Frisbee will meet Wednesday after school in coach Wyss room 201.

Attention seniors--SEVERAL new scholarships have been posted on the Naviance site.  Click on the colleges tab and then on scholarship list.

Freshman and Sophomores--registration for next year's classes will begin next week.  You will meet individually with your counselor to select your classes.  More details in the Leadership Center.

 

PAINTBALL:  Anyone and everyone interested in participating in the Paintball Club's next battle, Monday, January 19th at Wacky Warriors-East Field, If you have any questions, ask Ms. White!

 

Attention parents of seniors--Join a representative from the SLU Financial Aid office on Thursday, January 29 at 7 pm in the Media Center.

 

Seniors--Do you have a parent who is currently a member of an active, guard or reserve component of the US Army, The AUSA scholarship program. More details in the Leadership Center.

 

Seniors interested in engineering--The Misoouri Society of Professional Engineers will award $1000 scholarships to students with a 3.0 GPA and an ACT of 29 in Math and 25 in English.

 

The University of Dayton is offering the Marianist Leadership Scholarship of $4000 to students with a  3.0 GPA. More details in the Leadership Center.

 

Optimist International is offering an essay contest and an oratorical contest to compete for scholarships up to $2500.  More details in the Leadership Center.

 

Juniors interested in a career in medicine-- the University of Missouri offers a 'Mini Medical School" which is one week  of experience in the summer.  More details in the Leadership Center.
