Attention Juniors & Seniors in English 450, German 350 or Spanish 350—if you did not register with St. Louis University for college credit last week and want the credit, you MUST see Mr. Matreci  TODAY to register in order to avoid late fees being charged. 


Any Junior that has not received his SSP Application and list of agencies MUST see Mrs. Mitchell in 104 TODAY. 


It’s time to meet again at the Globe Theater in the Activity Center! Griffin Theatre needs usher/waiters for the performances of the Compleat Works of Shakespeare, Abridged presented January 30 to February 2. Join the mayhem as 6 Griffins perform all of Shakespeare, including the fastest performance of Hamlet ever seen! See Mrs. Fullenkamp in room 408—free admission to the show, activity points and fun!


Attention juniors and sophomores--Next week will begin the registration process for the 2014-15 school year.  You will be meeting individually with your counselor to select classes for next year.  Be thinking about courses that will meet your personal and career goals.  Freshmen will register in February.


The roster of Seniors attending the final Kairos of the year in February can be found on the Campus Ministry Bulletin Board. If you  have any questions see Mr. Remiger. 


Interested in a fun way to get service hours? Volunteer for the Alumni Association Trivia Night this Saturday  at Vianney from 6:45- 10:30 roughly.  THIS INCLUDES CLEAN UP! See Ms. Walsh if you are interested.

Calling all Griffins! Looking for some service hours? How about some activity points? Volunteers can now sign up for the Night of the Griffin Auction. Please see Mr. Schuermann in the advancement office during encore or after school. Positions for all grades currently available.


Attention senior parents(and any other interested parties):  Fear not the FAFSA!  Join a representative from the SLU Financial Aid office on Tuesday, January 28 for step by step instructions on how to complete the FAFSA, the FREE financial aid form for college.  The presentation is at 7 pm in the Media Center.  See you there!


Seniors:  several new scholarships have been added to the scholarship list on the colleges tab of Family Connection.  Some highlights include scholarships for children of employees of St. Anthony's Medical Center, children of employees of Fred Weber, Inc. or a subsidiary company, students interested in pursuing a nursing degree, first generation college students demonstrating financial need, and many others.  Check 'em out!


Seniors:  Do you have a parent who is currently a member of any active, guard or reserve component of the US Army, a parent who served in the the US Army, Guard or Reserve or a parent who currently works for a defense contractor or a defense agency?  The AUSA is awarding scholarships ranging from $1000 to $3000.  Deadline is March 9.  See Ms. Hartz, Mrs. Sodemann or Mrs. Dombek in the Leadership Center for more information.


Seniors:  The University of Dayton is offering the Marianist Leadership Scholarship of $4000 to those students who have been accepted to the University of Dayton and have a 3.0 gpa.  The scholarship is renewable and requires an essay and 2 letters of recommendation.  See your counselor in the Leadership Center for more information.  Deadline is February 18.


Six Flags is looking for seasonal employees.  More information is on the Guidance bulletin board in the Marianist Lobby.


Juniors:  The University of Missouri in Columbia is again offering Mini Med School, a one week, hands on experience designed for students interested in medicine as a career.  Application deadline is March 1.  See Mr. Lantz, Mr. Meyer or Mrs. Dombek in the Leadership Center for more information. 


Juniors and Sophomores interested in pursuing a career in the Criminal Justice System are encouraged to attend the American Legion's Cadet Patrol Academy held June 1-6 in Jefferson City, MO.  Seniors Tony Stackle and Ben Romas attended last summer's Academy.  A 2.0 gpa and a valid driver's license are required.  Get an application in the Leadership Center.


Reminder to ALL VARSITY LACROSSE PLAYERS not currently participating in a Winter sport:  Pre-season team lifting and conditioning will continue this week on TUESDAY and THURSDAY at 3:00 and SATURDAY at 10 am starting in the weight room.  Please dress for drills on the track.  This is required of all trying out for Varsity, but open to all levels.  Questions? ALL LACROSSE PLAYERS:  This season's sign up meeting will take place for ALL LEVELS tonight at 7:00 pm in the Griffin Cafe.


The varsity basketball team improved their record to 10-5 last night with a 51-45 win over DeSmet.  Tanner Cochran led the Griffins with 19 points and 6 assists.  Kyle Markway chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds.   The Griffins play MCC rival CBC on Friday night in the annual Paint It Pink game.  Come early, be loud, wear pink!
