Tuesday is a dress-up day for the annual Marianist Awards Assembly.  Everyone is to wear dress shirt & tie, dress pants and dress shoes.

 

It’s time to meet again at the Globe Theater in the Activity Center! Griffin Theatre needs usher/waiters for the performances of the Compleat Works of Shakespeare, Abridged presented January 30 to February 2. Join the mayhem as 6 Griffins perform all of Shakespeare, including the fastest performance of Hamlet ever seen! See Mrs. Fullenkamp in room 408—free admission to the show, activity points and fun!

Hockey News:  Tonight, 9:30 pm vs. DeSmet at Queeny Park

 

Calling all Griffins! Looking for some service hours? How about some activity points? Volunteers can now sign up for the Night of the Griffin Auction. Please see Mr. Schuermann in the advancement office during encore or after school. Positions for all grades currently available.

     

Attention senior parents(and any other interested parties):  Fear not the FAFSA!  Join a representative from the SLU Financial Aid office on Tuesday  for step by step instructions on how to complete the FAFSA, the FREE financial aid form for college.  The presentation is at 7 pm in the Media Center.  See you there!

 

Seniors:  The University of Dayton is offering the Marianist Leadership Scholarship of $4000 to those students who have been accepted to the University of Dayton and have a 3.0 gpa.  The scholarship is renewable and requires an essay and 2 letters of recommendation.  See your counselor in the Leadership Center for more information.  Deadline is February 18.

 

Juniors:  The University of Missouri in Columbia is again offering Mini Med School, a one week, hands on experience designed for students interested in medicine as a career.  Application deadline is March 1.  See Mr. Lantz, Mr. Meyer or Mrs. Dombek in the Leadership Center for more information. 

 

Juniors and Sophomores interested in pursuing a career in the Criminal Justice System are encouraged to attend the American Legion's Cadet Patrol Academy held June 1-6 in Jefferson City, MO.  Seniors Tony Stackle and Ben Romas attended last summer's Academy.  A 2.0 gpa and a valid driver's license are required.  Get an application in the Leadership Center.

 

Juniors - The Missouri Boys State program held at Central Mo State University is presently taking applications. Students who excel in Civics, American History and Politics would be excellent candidates. This program runs from June 14 - 21.  It's an excellent way to improve your self-confidence and leadership skills!Local American Legion Posts and other community minded organizations pay all of the fees. Please see your Counselor for more details

 

Sophomores - Juniors The Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy is presently taking applications for any students between the ages of 16 - 18 to attend their 44th Annual Cadet Academy. If you have an interest in pursuing a career in Criminal Justice this would be an excellent opportunity for you. This program runs from June 1st through June 6th. Please see your Counselor for more details.  

    

The Basketball Griffins play MCC rival CBC tonight in the annual Paint It Pink game.  Come early, be loud, wear pink!

 

Tech Club today: Come learn more about robotics!  James Howard, a Vianney alum and project manager from Boeing, will join us to talk about competitive robotics competitions and engineering.

 

 

WEDNESDAY THE VARSITY CHESS DEFEATED THE LADUE RAMS BY THE SCORE OF 27 TO 3.  ALEX MOELLERING, JACK LYONS, NIKITA THOMPSON, NATHAN MITTENZWER AND DAN OWENSBY SCORED FOR THE GRIFFINS.  WEDNESDAY THE JUNIOR VARSITY CHESS TEAM DEFEATED THE ALTON GREYHOUNDS VARSITY TEAM BY THE SCORE OF 30 TO 0.  GAGE KRAMER, MARSHALL HARNEY, ALEX FOLEY, JOE WENDL AND NICK KREITNER SCORED FOR THE GRIFFINS.  CHESS PLAYERS WHO NEED TO PAY THE ENTRY FEE FOR THE SATURDAY TOUNAMENT PLEASE SEE MR, PETERSEN TODAY.

 

LaCrosse:  Mandatory conditioning work-outs will continue for Varsity players tomorrow at 10:00 in the weight room.  Other teams may join that workout.
