FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1

Today at the start of Encore, all juniors must attend a mandatory meeting in the Chapel.  Following this prayer service the juniors going on next week’s retreat will meet for a few minutes as well.  In addition, today at the start of Encore, all students attending next week’s Kairos Retreat must attend a brief mandatory meeting in the Fieldhouse.

It’s hockey playoff time and your 4th ranked Griffins head to this year’s Mid-States Challenge Cup Playoffs with their highest ranking in 8 years.  Action kicks off tonight against the SLUH Jr. Bills and tomorrow against the Oakville Tigers. Both of these games are at Affton. Puck drops tonight at 8:00 pm and tomorrow night it’s the west coast start time of 10:15 pm.  We need big crowds both nights to cheer on our Griffins. 1st Round Pool play concludes on Thursday against the Priory Rebels at the South County Ice Rink with a start time of 7:00 PM

All Freshman interested in participating in soccer off-season workouts will have their informational meeting today at Encore in Room 201 w/ Coach Haddock

The following students should meet Mr. Mulligan and Coach Cochran in the Coaches Office during encore on Friday, February 1; Tanner Placke, James Weindel, Ryan Merriweather,  Max Franey, Drew Bishop, Joey Lyons, Griffin John and Devin Ward.

PJ Wuennenberg, Jack McKinney, CJ Nesser, & Jonny Nelson go to room 402 at the start of encore today.

Lane Allison, please report to room 503 during Encore.

If any sophomore, juniors or seniors missed yesterday’s baseball meeting see me during lunch today.

The freshman basketball team defeated Rockwood Summit last night 51-37 in a solid team effort. Pete Rule scored 11 points to lead the offense, while Brandon Hebrank set the tone defensively.

Griffin Theatre’s production of Bedtime Stories As Told By Our Dad Who Messed Them Up runs tonight thru Saturday at 7:30 pm and on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm. Tickets are only $4 for students. Bedtime Stories is a children’s theatre comedy by Ed Monk. Running time is approximately 60 minutes.

Finally, there are no student birthdays today but we do have some to celebrate over the weekend.   Happy birthday on Saturday to Brock Daniels, on Sunday to Jack Silies (coach he doesn’t go here anymore) and on Monday to Jacob Brewer, Brayden Holder and Justin Schoenwalder.  We hope that you all have a great day on your special day.
