Seniors--check out the new scholarship opportunity on the Updates section of Family Connection
The Glendale Kirkwood Kiwanis Club is offering a scholarship to seniors. Criteria for the scholarship include service to your community, academic achievement (especially marked improvement in gpa), extra curricular participation and some financial need.

There will be a parent-player meeting Thursday night at 6:30 in the cafe for anyone interested in trying out tennis this spring.

Off-season soccer training will begin tomorrow morning at 6:45 up at the soccer lockerroom.

For all Spanish students! Friday will be the next Spanish table during Encore in room 301!

ALL: This week Griffin LIFE will be for leaders only. LIFE leaders should plan on meeting from 5:30-7 on Tuesday.

From Guidance:
The Ladies Auxiliary of St. Norbert Knights of Columbus is awarding a $500 scholarship to a senior with a minimum 2.5 GPA. A letter of recommendation and a short essay are required. Check out more details on the Updates section of Family Connection or see a counselor. Deadline is April 1, 2013.

The Charles W. Frees,Jr. Educational Fund is awarding a $1500 scholarship to a senior who is a citizen, ranks in the top 20% of the class and have at least a 22 on the ACT. Financial need is a consideration. More details are on the Updates section of Family Connection or see a counselor. Deadline is April 1, 2013.

The Western Catholic Union is offering a $1000 scholarship to a student currently in grades 9-11 who is a WCU life or annuity member and who has a parent who is also a WCU life or annuity member. Deadline is March 1 with details on Family Connection.

SIU-Edwardsville is hosting Explore Academic Excellence Day on Saturday, February 16 from 8-12 for those students interested in a nursing program. More information is on Family Connection.

Today, in room 302 during Encore, there will be a short meeting about the football off-season program for all freshman interested in playing football next season. If you cannot make the meeting, please see Coach Hamilton, Coach O, or Coach Thomas to obtain the information.

Encore Communion Service: At the end of the communion service this Monday morning, Fr. Tim and Fr. Don will be available to bless throats in remembrance of St. Blaise. In the Catholic Church we have many blessings and rituals. During this cold and flu season, today becomes a great opportunity to ask God through the intercession of Saint Blaise to be with you and heal you.

Ash Wednesday Mass: Soon we will begin the season of Lent with the celebration of our next student body mass on Feb. 13. If you would like to help out on this mass, please see Fr. Tim or anyone in campus ministry.

Baptism Class: If there is any student in our Vianney family who has never been baptized but would like at this time to prepare for this sacrament, a class will start up with Fr. Tim during the season of Lent. Please apply by writing a paragraph indicating why you would like to be considered for baptism. See Fr. Tim if you are interested.

ALL CURRENT and PROSPECTIVE LACROSSE PLAYERS: The 2013 season begins on MONDAY February 18th. If you have not yet turned in your registration information, you must do so THIS WEEK.
