Baptism Class: If there is any student in our Vianney family who has never been baptized but would like at this time to prepare for this sacrament, a class will start up with Fr. Tim during the season of Lent. Please apply by writing a paragraph indicating why you would like to be considered for baptism. See Fr. Tim if you are interested.
ALL CURRENT and PROSPECTIVE LACROSSE PLAYERS: The 2013 season begins on MONDAY February 18th. If you have not yet turned in your registration information, you must do so THIS WEEK.
The Muny will be holding teen auditions on February 23rd for Shrek, Mary Poppins, Les Miserables, South Pacific, Spamalot and Nunsense. In addition The Muny Teen Touring Troupe will be selected from this audition. If you have auditioned for The Muny in the past, this is an entirely new process. All Griffs trying out for golf there will be a MANDATORY meeting Tuesday 2/12 in Room 306 at Encore! If you are trying out and you have NOT turned in your personal information sheet, parent/athlete signature sheet, or have had a physical you MUST do so ASAP!
The Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at Southeast MO State University is offering a $500 scholarship for seniors attending Southeast who have a 3.0 GPA and who have participated in a high school athletic program. A 2-4 page essay is also required. Details are on Family Connection. Due date is May 31, 2013. See a counselor for more information.
Attention all Pro-life Club Members: If you missed the meeting this last Tuesday because of the math testing, do not fear. We have two more opportunities to attend: this coming Tuesday at encore, or Tuesday after school. Both meetings will be held in the chapel. Please make an effort to attend one or the other. There are a lot of exciting Pro-life events coming up, and we would love for you to participate any or all of them.
Attention juniors and seniors: the next ACT course is now completely full and closed to any more sign ups. If you were hoping to take it, there is still plenty of room in the June course, which starts April 11. See Mr. Meyer in the counseling office for more information.
ALL: Start Lent off the right way by attending Griffin LIFE next Wednesday, Ash Wednesday, from 5:30-7:30. Make it a resolution to build your faith life by attending Griffin LIFE throughout Lent.
HOCKEY: The hockey team plays CBC tonight at Affton. Game time is 9:45 -- come on out and support your Griffins!
Basketball: It has been awhile since the Griffin basketball team has played a home game and tonight Vianney returns to their home court for a key MCC contests vs. CBC at 7:00 p.m. There are only two regular season home games remaining. Make plans to root on your classmates and friends tonight vs. CBC.
WEDNESDAY THE VARSITY CHESS TEAM DEFEATED THE PARKWAY SOUTH PATRIOTS BY THE SCORE OF 26.5 TO 3.5. TIM ELLEBRACHT, ALEX MOELLERING, JACK LYONS, NIKITA THOMPSON AND AARON REYNOLDS SCORED POINTS FOR THE GRIFFINS.
