Vianney Daily Bulletin

Friday, FEBRUARY 9:

Thank you to all the students and faculty who supported Cancer awareness week this past week. Today we raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the United States. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer sometime in their life. It is estimated that over 250,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed this year alone. The survival rate, especially for women under 50, has increased dramatically with improved screening processes and medical procedures to control the disease once it is found. Thank you for your support of this cause and this past week.

If you are planning on trying out for volleyball in the spring, there will be a quick informational meeting Wednesday after school in Coach Hoge’s room. Tryout times and dates are listed on her door.

All new and returning TENNIS players, there is a mandatory parent meeting February 22nd at 6:30 pm in the Media Center.  At least one parent should be present.  Any questions, please see Mr. Sargent.

Make this Lent a meaningful one. Join Griffin LIFE on Tuesday night as we  unpack Jesus’ words “Blessed are the poor in spirit”. Tuesday, 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Marianist Art Gallery.

Today in our chapel we will have Eucharistic Adoration all morning.

Have you ever thought about being a Marianist Lay person, a Marianist priest or brother. Vianney, Chaminade, and St. Mary’s are teaming up to have an information discernment retreat for Juniors and Seniors to talk about the future of the Marianist Family. If you think you have the leadership and faith, please see Fr. Tim for information or to register.

Next Wednesday we begin the season of Lent. We will have a special Mass and begin our 40 days. It might be a good time to start thinking about what you might like to do to come closer to God in your life.

Sophomores with a 3.0 or above who would like to visit with the college reps this spring, the sign up sheet for the Naviance lesson is in Ms. Olderman’s office.
