With Career Day this Friday we have slightly altered this week's Monthly Class Meetings. We will do Sophomores today, Juniors and Seniors together on Tuesday and Freshmen on Thursday. Please make sure that you make note of the changes.

Congratulations to junior Michael Schmidt who performed in the Missouri State High School Activities Association solo and ensemble festival on Saturday and received a superior rating for his piano performance. He performed Beethoven's Sonata in G. Great job, Michael!

Communion Service during Encore: Think about giving up 5 minutes of your Encore time to spend some time with your friend Jesus during this 40 day journey in Lent. . You are invited to the stand up for your faith and come to the communion service this morning.

Youth Leadership St. Louis is recruiting next year's leadership class. Monthly field trips to area venues help the leaders learn about St. Louis and how we all have a stake in the development of our region. Contact any of this year's team to learn of their experience: Nick Allgeyer, Ben Dombrowski, Nikita Thompson, Nick Wojciechowski. Applications may be picked up from Mrs. Sodemann in the Leadership Center. The deadline is March 13. More information will be available at the March sophomore class meeting.

It's not too late to join the Yearbook and Photo Club. See Mr. Burke in room 208 for more details.

3 on 3 hoops is back. Next Saturday, we will crown a new champion. We will begin play after the spring sports have finished their practices. Teams may include alums, 2 players on the Soph or Frosh teams. Varsity team members will still be playing so they will be ineligible. This will be a fun afternoon so clear your calendars for Sat March 8. There will be a $10.00 entry fee which will benefit our Special Olympics event in May. More details will follow. Rosters can be acquired in room 305 or in the café. Lace em up!!!!!

Congratulations to Griffin Bowling who has qualified for the Mid-America High School League Tournament on March 24. Grayson Hart and Joe Bialczak bowled personal bests.

If anyone is still looking to compete this spring after spring cut, consider joining the track team. Talk to Coach Mohr in 304 today. Deadline for joining is Wednesday.

There will be a golf meeting in ROOM 306 at Encore today.

The varsity basketball team won their third straight district championship on Friday night with a 49-42 victory over Kirkwood in front of a raucous Griffin crowd. Brad Woodson led the way with 20 points and 10 rebounds and Sean O'Brien added 12 points and 8 rebounds. The win was Vianney's 20th in the season and the first time the Griffin basketball team has posted back to back 20 win seasons.

The Griffins move on to play Troy in the sweet 16 round of the state tournament. The game is Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Lindenwood University. Let's take Griffin nation to St. Charles County it is only 20 miles from school. Don't let the Missouri River scare you away.

This is a reminder that the varsity baseball group will practice this afternoon from 3-5 at All-Star Performance Center and the JV Group will practice from 3-4:30 in Maryhurst with the freshmen to follow from 4:30 to 5:45. Lists of where Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are to report will be on the window of Coach Brown's office (facing the Commons) at Encore.
