C period teachers will inform Mandatory Encore students of their room assignments this morning.

 

Seniors:  Prom tux fittings need to be scheduled in advance—sign up in the Main Office by Wednesday morning.

 

ALLseniors (including those in Mandatory Encore) will meet with Mr. Matreci in the Field House during Encore this morning.

Griffin Theatre:  Ushers, we need ushers! See Mrs. Fullenkamp in room 408. Get your name on the list!

Next Student Body Mass:  We are looking for volunteers to assist at our next student body mass which comes next week during Holy Week on Tuesday, April 15. If you would like to become involved, please see Fr. Tim

 

40 Day Prayer Schedule: During this past Lenten season, many people have volunteered to stand in prayer and witness in front of the abortion clinic. Vianney will host this event on once again on Thursday from 7:am til 7:pm. Consider spending one hour  in prayerful reflection on this day. If you would like to attend and also receive a ride, can you contact  Fr. Tim or Mr. Kheriaty sometime today

JUNIORS: Don't forget to sign up for junior ring online. Once you sign up bring the signed form and money to Mr. Lewis in 310. You have two weeks left to sign up!!!

Attention juniors: the last  ACT course of the year will begin on April 16. See Mr. Meyer in the counseling office for more information.

 

The inaugural St. John Vianney Literary & Art Journal (The Mag) is now accepting submissions from now until April 21st.  Please see posted guidelines around the school or in room 302.  Or simply come talk to Mr. Sargent for more information.  We are looking for finely-crafted submissions of: short-fiction, essays, poetry, art, photography.

 

Swimming & Diving:  Congratulations to the following Griffins who were chosen by their teammates as captains for the 2014 Vianney Swimming & Diving Team--Diver Sam Trenter and Swimmers Dominic Biffignani and Brady Hoffmann.  Their coaches and teammates congratulate them.

 

OVER THE WEEKEND, THE VARSITY CHESS TEAM PLACED THIRD IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT IN SAN DIDGO, CALIFORNIA. JACK LYONS PLACED FIRST WITH A RECORD OF SIX WINS AND ONE DRAW. OTHER AWARD WINNERS WERE ANDREW KREKELER, DAN OWENSBY, GAGE KRAMER, ALEX MOELLERING, AND MARSHALL HARNEY.

 

Special Olympics   Our roster for our April 28th Special Olympics event has been posted.  Our first meeting will be this Friday during Encore.  Your attendance at this meeting will demonstrate your commitment to our event.  We have a waiting list so anyone who is not present will be replaced.  If you participated last year, your name should appear on the roster.  Please find your name and on Friday check in with the person whose name appears in bold at the top of the column where your name is found.  See Mr. C Walsh if you have questions.  If you signed up but don't see your name on the roster.  Come to the meeting on Friday since we will need replacements for no-shows. Thanks to all for your interest in Special Olympics.

 

The Vianney Ultimate Frisbee team improved its overall record to 2 and 2 on Sunday by beating Metro 15-5. Their next game is Friday at Westminster Christian Academy at 4.
