Lunch shift changes today:  Mr. Owens’ B period class will eat at 4th lunch today.   Mr. Neyer’s band will eat at 1st lunch and then leave for the concert.

 

Seniors:  Thursday, May 1 isGraduation Practice & College Pride Day--Wear your college/university polo, tshirt, sweatshirt, etc. on that day. 

 

Junior Unity Mass this Friday: this Friday the class of 2015 will come together for a special evening of prayer with Mass and a blessing as they prepare to be leaders of the school next year. Anyone interested in assisting with the Mass should see Fr. Tim. We welcome all parents and friends of the class of 2015 to join us for this wonderful ceremony. 

 

Retreat Sign Up's for Next Year:  all Sophomores who will be Juniors next year and all juniors who will be seniors next year are asked to register for your retreat on line. Simply go to the Vianney Web site and click on campus ministry/retreats and choose a date that will fit into your schedule. Each retreat is limited to so many people until the registration closes. Please do this in the next two weeks with a deadline of May 2nd. If you have any questions on the retreat dates please see Fr. Tim or Mr. Remiger.

Prom Forms are now available in the Main Office and in the Gear Store. Please fill it out and Return to Mr. Lewis in 310 by April 25th

 

From Guidance:

  1. Attention juniors and sophomores and their parents:  Maryville University is hosting a college fair on Sunday, April 27 from 1-3 pm in the Simon Center.  Representatives from over 100 schools will be in attendance.  Pre-register and get a barcode at:  gotocollegefairs.com.  See your counselor for more information or check out the posters around the building.

 

  1. Interested in Criminal Justice or Forensics as a career?  Lindenwood University is hosting a Criminal Justice Summer Institute June 9-11.  Cost is $175 or $275.  See a counselor in the Leadership Center for more information.

 

Video Game Tournament -- Wednesday, April 30. 

 

Special Olympics:  The new Special Olympics roster is now posted outside of room 305 and 105.  New additions are included.  Please check the roster and let us know of any problems.  We can accept other volunteers to be subs in the event that someone is absent on April 28th, the date of our Special Olympics.  Our next meeting will be on Friday April 25th in the field house.  Don't forget you sunscreen on the day of the event.  

 

All members of the Special Olympics steering committee please meet tomorrow during Encore in 305.

 

There will be a summer basketball meeting for freshman on Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m.

Yearbook Pictures to be taken THURSDAY During Encore- All LINK Crew members, All Chess team members, LIFE, World Quest, and Guitar Club members. Meet in the commons during Encore.

 

The JV Track team traveled to Webster Groves and literally muscled up for their medals.  Spencer Petersen, Joe Winkelmann, Jake Kurkowski, and Joey Rearden all placed in the throwing events to lead the Griffins.

 

The Vianney tennis team lost a close one yesterday 4-5 to Parkway North. The team will return to play on Thursday against Oakville and Saturday against DeSmet.

 

The Griffs lost a close match yesterday to CBC 254-250. Vianney was led by Nick Estopare's 38, and Aaron Deer and Andrew Smith both shot 41's. Next up DeSmet at the Legends GC on Thursday.

 

The South County Chamber of Commerce is offering a scholarship for those students with a strong background in volunteering and in activities outside of school.  All Vianney students are eligible to apply.  The amount of the scholarship will probably between $500-$1000.  See a counselor in the Leadership Center for more information.
