MONDAY, APRIL 23

On Saturday, the JV volleyball team went 4-0 to take first place in the Marquette tournament! Today, the freshman volleyball team travels to Thomas Jefferson for a 5:30 pm match. JV and varsity will practice at their normal Monday times.

ALL Chess team members must attend a meeting with Mr. Baur in room 500 on Tuesday during Encore.  Please be there on time.

Bocce Players--we will have a meeting of anyone interested in playing Bocce next Fall.  New players are welcome. Come by even if you are just curious. We will meet in Room 107 during Encore on Tuesday.

Any racquetball players who did not pick up a banquet form, stop by Mr Buehrle’s room sometime today. Forms are due Tuesday by the end of the school day.

If you are a freshman, sophomore, or junior and interested in playing basketball next year, there is a meeting on Wednesday morning at 8:40 a.m. in the Fieldhouse to discuss Summer Basketball Plans at Vianney.  Questions, see Coach Walsh

The freshman Black baseball team beat CBC twice on Friday night to improve to 14-3. Ryan Carolan had four hits in the 12-8 Game 1 win, and Joe Dasho gave up only three hits to earn a 5-1 win in Game 2.

The freshman Gold baseball team beat Granite City twice on Saturday morning. Carson Jarus contributed to both wins with 7 hits, 6 RBI’s, and 5 stolen bases.

On Friday the Griffin track team travelled to Desoto for their big invitational.  Chris Tabourne finished 2nd in the 110 hurdles, Alex Moore 4th in the high jump and CJ Bossert had a huge personal best to earn 4th in the discus.  Tomorrow the Griffins welcome a dozen schools for the Jim Farrell Invitational. Practice today begins at approximately 1:30 after Olympics.

The lacrosse program kept up their solid seasons with key victories for JV and Varsity over John Burroughs. JV won 8-4 and Varsity defeated the Bombers 8-7.  Next up…@DeSmet on Tuesday

Congratulations to the cast, musicians & crew of Young Frankenstein on a very successful run this past weekend. Griffin Theatre is in contention for an awards nomination in the St Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards sponsored by The Muny & The Fox Theatre.

Attention Juniors. Tomorrow during encore you will have your STUCO elections. Please report to the field house during Encore for speeches. The candidates are reminded that you are in Mass attire to deliver your speech.

It’s not too late to join Mr. Borje’s powerlifting program. Come by the band room today to sign up. First lifting session is tomorrow after school.
