Today is a dress up day for everyone—we will follow the Liturgy schedule for the Senior Honors Convocation.
Congratulations to Connor Borisenko, Shane Doherty, and Patrick McCaffrey of Five Fifths Architecture for winning Vianney's annual Architecture Night. Their design for a dorm on the campus of the University of Missouri was labeled sophisticated and dynamic by two professional architects. All of the seniors's projects can be seen in the 300 hallway.
All chess players who did not attend the awards ceremony on Wednesday should please see Mr. Petersen in room 208 sometime today to pick up your awards.
Everyone is invited to attend the Spring Band Concert this Sunday, May 4, at 7:00 pm in the Activity Center. Come out and show your support for our fine Griffin Musicians.
Freshmen, sophomores and juniors---looking for a summer job? Westborough Country Club is looking for caddies. Caddying allows you to earn money with flexible hours, have a great work environment, develop mentoring relationships and have fun with your peers! You will have the opportunity to apply for the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship which covers full tuition and room and board. Prior golf experience is not necessary. See your counselor or check out the information on the guidance bulletin board.
Current sophomores and juniors can apply for the Scottrade Center and Peabody Opera House High School Student Employment Program. Details of the requirements for the job are available from your counselor or on the guidance bulletin board.
Seniors: Volunteers needed for upcoming Masses: If you are interested in participating in the upcoming Senior Mother Son Mass or your Baccalaureate Mass, please see Fr. Tim for possibilities. Thank you.
Eucharistic Ministers: Juniors in the Class of 2015 who are Catholic and want to be faith leaders in your senior year may apply to help distribute communion at our student body masses and special events masses. Write a one page essay and submit by Friday of this week, May 2nd.
Retreat Sign Ups for Next Year: All Sophomores who will be Juniors next year and all juniors who will be seniors next year are asked to register for your retreat on line. Simply go to the Vianney Web site and click on campus ministry/retreats and choose a date that will fit into your schedule. Each retreat is limited to so many people until the registration closes. Please do this in the next two weeks with a deadline of May 2nd. If you have any questions on the retreat dates please see Fr. Tim or Mr. Remiger.
Cross Country: There will be an important informational meeting Monday during Encore for all students interested in competing on the cross country team next year. The meeting will take place in room 304.
The varsity baseball team defeated Francis Howell Central on Thursday 15-7.
Congratulations to the freshman baseball team, whose 8-2 win over CBC yesterday helped them capture the MCC championship with an undefeated record. Cole Hensel had a big two-run double to help Vianney come from behind, and Tommy Kraus picked up the win on the mound.
The tennis team lost yesterday to a strong Westminster team and will be playing tomorrow morning in the MCC Tournament at Chaminade. Strong play came from doubles teams Kevin Henschel and Matt Sapienza and Joe LaMartina and Sean Meyer.
The JV Golf Team ended their season yesterday by defeating Chaminade 254 to 263. Connor Smith had a one over par 37 and John Antonacci shot a 41 to lead the Griffs!
Results from yesterday's big JV track and field meet: Jacob Kurkowski took 1st in the discus, Winkelmann, Rearden, and Langenfeld all placed in the shot put, Liam Shannon placed in both Long and Triple Jump, Brendan Cronley in the 400, Joe Souvannarath in the 300 hurdles and Joe Nelson in the high jump. The team took 4th out of 6 teams.

VARSITY LACROSSE. The Griffins next take on the Webster Groves Statesmen Saturday MAY 3rd at 2:00 at The Heeb for SENIOR DAY. For the past 4 years 11 dedicated seniors have committed themselves to the success of the Vianney lacrosse program. This Saturday afternoon, before your Kentucky Derby viewing, come out to honor these remarkable young men.
