Monthly Class Meetings start up this week.  The schedule goes as follows: Seniors - Tuesday; Juniors - Thursday; Freshman - Friday.  All meetings will be held in the Fieldhouse during Encore.  Please report directly to the Fieldhouse immediately following your first period class.

 

Attention juniors and seniors: Sign-ups for ACT courses are now being accepted.  The first course of the year starts September 18.  There are spots available, but they are filling up fast.  If you'd like to sign up for that course or any course, see Mr. Meyer in the counseling office for more information.

Mr. Brown is selling parking passes in the Main Office.  You MUST fill out an on-line form in order to get one.  Cost is $50.00

 

All service hour forms must be turned into Mr. Remiger. If you have any questions about service hours please see him in the Campus Ministry office.

 

A couple of reminders in regards to parking on campus:

First, in order to park on campus you must have a parking tag hanging from the rearview mirror of your car.  You can purchase them from Mr. Brown in the main office, after filing out a form on-line

 Second, parking is NOT permitted on the cemetery side of old Brownhurst drive
Third, you may not park on the corner of drives around campus

 Finally, you MAY NOT park in the back lot of the businesses next door to Vianney.

 

Any soph, junior, senior interested in fall conditioning for basketball (and not playing a fall sport) should attend a meeting today after school in Room 303.  Freshmen,  we will have a meeting for you at a later date.

 

Encore Communion Services:  This week, beginning today we start our Communion Services in the Marianist Lobby. Come join us for a short service and an opportunity to receive the Eucharist. Please be reverent while passing the Marianist lobby when the communion service is taking place. Thank you for your respect.

 

All spiritual leaders should meet in the coaches’  office at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28.

 

CHESS INTRAMURALS PRACTICE AND COMPETITION BEGIN NEXT WEEK.

THOSE STUDETNS WHO WANT TO REGISTER FOR CHESS INTRAMURALS SHOULD SEE MR. PETERSEN IN ROOM 208 BEFORE CLASSES, AT ENCORE OR IMMEIDATELY AFTER CLASSES.

 

MEDIA CLUB:  A brand new club making its debut this year is the Vianney Media Club. If you are interested in learning more about advertising, media production, audio mixing,  video, Vine, YouTube or broadcasting, join Mr Staggenborg and Mr. Gladstone in the Media Center during Encore on Tuesday to learn more about this new club.

 

Any freshmen, soph, junior, and senior interested in fall conditioning for wrestling  (and not playing a fall sport) should attend a meeting on Wednesday after school in the activity center.

 

During lunch today STUCO will be selling Fall Mixer tickets for $8. Pick up your tickets today before we sell out!

STUCO is looking to add an updated GRIFFIN COSTUME to our school. Several designs will be available for viewing and voting during lunch. Help STUCO select the future of Griffin Pride by voting during your lunch period today!

 

Who wants to throw things for points?  Who wants a varsity letter in their first season?  Is this you?  If so, you may want to join the bowling team.  Come Friday after school for a brief meeting in the media center.  We should be done by 3:15.  Can't come because you are in a fall sport or for another reason?  See Bro Andrew in the media center.

 

The Robotics Club is ready to kick off the 2013-2014 season!  The club is open to anyone interested in designing, building, and programming an actual robot for the FTC tournament this January.  We placed well in the tournament last year, but we're looking to improve and need a few good men.  If interested, please join us after school on Thursday, August 29th in room 204 to discuss program details.
