Lunch shift changes effective today: 

1.  All of Mr. Kheriaty’s classes will now eat at 1st lunch. 

2.  Mr. Mohr’s B and C period classes will now eat at 3rd lunch.


Monthly Class Meetings start up this week.  The schedule goes as follows; Juniors today;  Freshman - Friday.  All meetings will be held in the Fieldhouse during Encore.  Please report directly to the Fieldhouse immediately following your first period class.


ALL FRESHMEN:  If you are interested in attending the FRESHMEN FRIDAY FOOTBALL FESTIVITIES from 3:30 to game time, please sign up in ROOM 308 if you have not done so.


Attention juniors and seniors:  There are 8 spots left in the first ACT prep course of the year.  It starts on September 18, and is for students taking the October ACT.  If you'd like to sign up, please see Mr. Meyer in the counseling office.  You can also sign up for any course offered this school year.

Also, if you have already taken the ACT course and are planning to re-take it for free before the October ACT, let Mrs. Kheriaty know as soon as possible so you will have a spot.




STUCO Has declared this Friday to be the first BLACK AND GOLD day of the year to celebrate the first football game. DRESS in your CRAZIEST BLACK AND GOLD OUTFITS this FRIDAY!!!!


STUCO Fall Mixer this Saturday from 6pm to 9pm!! Buy your tickets today and Friday for $8 or $10 at the doors! Bring ALL YOUR FRIENDS!


Who wants to throw things for points?  Who wants a varsity letter in their first season?  Is this you?  If so, you may want to join the bowling team.  Come Friday after school for a brief meeting in the media center.  We should be done by 3:15.  Can't come because you are in a fall sport or for another reason?  See Bro Andrew in the media center.


The Robotics Club is ready to kick off the 2013-2014 season!  The club is open to anyone interested in designing, building, and programming an actual robot for the FTC tournament this January.  We placed well in the tournament last year, but we're looking to improve and need a few good men.  If interested, please join us after school TODAY in room 204 to discuss program details. Sophomores! If you are interested in returning as a Griffin Guide or being a Griffin Guide for the first time, now is the time to become a Griffin Guide. This is a wonderful way for you to show our prospective students why it's so great being a Griffin. Guide yourself to the Admissions office and pick up an application today. They are due back to the Admissions office no later than Tuesday, September 4.


Job Opportunities: 

  1.  Einstein’s Bagels in Kirkwood is looking for after school and weekend help.  If you are interested, you can see Shannon or Ananda at the store or talk with Michael Macke here.
  2. G&W Sausage (4828 Parker Ave. at Kingshighway) has part-time openings—flexible schedule (1-4 days/week).  Call 314-352-5066 and talk with Mel or Bob.  (Bob Wanninger is a Vianney alum.)


Planning on attending the Grandparents Mass & Luncheon on September 8th, please  your grandparents have turned in their reservation. The event is free of charge but reservations are required.


MEDIA CLUB:  A brand new club making its debut this year is the Vianney Media Club. If you are interested in learning more about advertising, media production, audio mixing, video, Vine, YouTube or broadcasting, join Mr Staggenborg and Mr. Gladstone in the Media Center during Encore on Thursday to learn more about this new club. We had a great turnout at the first meeting, so if you missed it, be sure to attend Thursday's meeting.


Eucharistic Ministers:  Any senior who wishes to witness his Catholic faith as a spiritual leader can apply to help us distribute communion at our masses. Please write your name down and a paragraph expressing your hope by Sept. 4th and submit to Fr. Tim.


Senior Kairos Retreats:  Seniors are asked to register on line for their senior retreat no later than next week on Sept. 4th. If you wish to apply to be a leader, please write your name down and a paragraph expressing your desire and reasons why and submit to either Fr. Tim or Mr. Remiger. 


Any freshman not playing a fall sport and interested in participating in open gyms for basketball should attend a meeting after school on Friday in room 303.
The weight room is open after school Monday-Thursday for students who wish to workout from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Those in weight room should be properly dressed for working out and should follow rules of the weight room regarding exercise, safety, and clean up. Questions?  See Coach K. Walsh.
