The Freshman Black Soccer team defeated St. Dominic on Sat by the score of 2 - 0! Both goals were scored by Tommy Goeders!

 

Homeless Monday:   Today is our first Monday that we will inaugurate the program for making sandwiches for the homeless at Encore. Many thanks to our Soccer team for volunteering to do the first couple of Mondays in September.

Mission Trip:   Have you ever dreamed about the possibility of going on a Mission trip for a week in another country and helping the poor, building houses, and doing something for others. The Campus Ministry team is organizing a trip for this coming May. Give it some thought, start saving your pennies and more information will be coming your way later in September. This will be YOUR opportunity to be a servant leader. STAY TUNED.

 

Retreat Sign Up's:  Attention all Juniors and Seniors. If you have not signed up for your annual retreat for this coming year, please do so NOW. We have to put down payments on all of the retreat facilities based on the numbers attending. If you are scheduled to go on the first Kairos retreat in October or the first Junior retreat in October, the list is posted on the Campus ministry bulletin board. There are only 5 seats left for this first retreat. See if your name is registered. For more information see Fr. Tim or Mr. Remiger​

The Griffins started their season strong with a tri-meet victory over Oakville and Farmington on Friday, winning 8 of 11 events.  The team posted 20 Personal-Best times in their season opener.  Individual winners were Sr. Nick Alexander in the 200 Free and 100 Fly, Jr. Jake Gauvain in the 200 IM and 100 Free, Sr. Chris Raeber in the 100 Breaststroke and So. Sam Biffignani in the 100 Backstroke.  The 200 Medley Relay team of Alexander, Raeber, Gauvain and Sr. Ben Greene also took first along with the 200 Free Relay team of Alexander, Gauvain, Greene and Sr. Mitch Gerth.  His two wins were Nick Alexander's 99th and 100th of his high school career.  The Swimmers are back in action tomorrow vs. Cape Central in Cape Giradeau."

 

Art Club is already in session in the art room---B, C, D encores periods and after school each day starting at 3:10 PM. Everyone is welcome! Come whenever you can. Activity points will be awarded.

Athletic Ambassadors are a select group of students who work our athletic events as servant- leaders. Their responsibilities are to help our opponents, officials and guest during an athletic contest. The main objective is to help our students develop servant-leadership skills that will allow them to be success in everyday life. If this sounds like something you would like to do. Please see Tony Allen, Carson Meyer or Coach Cochran sometime this week.

All Fall Athletic Apostles should meet in room PE500 at 8:15a.m. on Wednesday, September 2".

Friday Eucharistic Adoration:  Students and faculty are invited to make a quiet visit to the chapel today for prayer during Eucharistic adoration, which takes place every Friday in the chapel from 7:30am until 2:30pm.

 

Speech/Debate and Mock Trial Information and kick-off meeting to be held

There will be a brief, but important member for all returning senior members of the National Honor Society on Tuesday, September 1, in room 209 during encore.

 

Attention juniors and seniors: the next ACT course will be starting on September 8.  If you're taking the October ACT, this class will help you get ready for it.  See Mr. Meyer in the counseling office for more information.

 

"Interested in learning more about history? Want to see and feel history through trips to historic sites and deeper analysis? THEN JOIN THE HISTORY CLUB! The first meeting is Monday after school in room 310.

 

All freshman are reminded to report to their link rooms at the beginning of EVERY ENCORE! If you can't remember your link room see Mr. Lewis.
