For close to 40 years, Vianney students have enjoyed going on a week-long trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in a program called Close Up. This election year will be no different. On February 3rd, two weeks into the next President's term, a plane will take this year's participants to the capital to interface with students from all over the country, and with members of our federal government, in a week-long study of our government in action. If you would like to be on that plane, then you need to an informational meeting this Friday during Encore in Room 204. You can pick up a brochure on the program from any Social Studies teacher.
Pro-Life Club: Come and be a part of the Pro Life Club which will start up this Thursday, Sept. 6th in chapel during Encore. Learn about the many ways you can become involved and take a stand for life during this election year. In B-soccer action, our Jr. Griffins are currently in the top spot after round one of the always tough MCC B-soccer Tournament. Yesterday they came from behind to beat CBC 3-1. Alec Roussin scored unassisted by way of a crafty free kick from about 25yds out to tie the game just before halftime. The second half was all Black & Gold as the Jr. Griffs controlled the Cadets. Five minutes into the half Brandon Love scored on a beautiful head ball off an assist from Roussin and three minutes later Joey Delbert scored on a breakaway after a long punt from keeper Dakota Thorwegen for a rare goalkeeper assist! 2nd round action continues Tuesday 9/4 against Chaminade at 3:45pm at Chaminade.
