Due to the mess left in the 200 hallway yesterday, the Ping Pong Club is suspended until further notice.

Attention Seniors and Juniors: Mrs. Kheriaty is conducting ACT prep classes again this year. The first class for the October 27th test is September 19th! Information will be given in the Senior and Junior class meetings this week or see a counselor. The information sheet about the classes is available in the Leadership and Learning Center and also in Family Connections. Check it out!

Griffin Theater Auditions for Count Dracula: Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM (Call backs, if necessary, on Thursday, September 13, 2012). Auditions will be held in Room 503. There are 7 male and 2 female roles available. Count Dracula is a play in three acts based on Bram Stoker's nineteenth century novel "Dracula." Be prepared for cold readings from the script. Rehearsals will be held on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday nights.
Those interested in bowling, please attend the organizational meeting after school today in room 406. If you cannot attend, please send an e-mail to Bro. Andy (akosmowski@vianney.com).
For close to 40 years, Vianney students have enjoyed going on a week-long trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in a program called Close Up. This election year will be no different. On February 3rd, two weeks into the next President's term, a plane will take this year's participants to the capital to interface with students from all over the country, and with members of our federal government, in a week-long study of our government in action. If you would like to be on that plane, then you need to an informational meeting this Friday during Encore in Room 204. You can pick up a brochure on the program from any Social Studies teacher.
Pro-Life Club: Come and be a part of the Pro Life Club which will start up this Thursday, Sept. 6th in chapel during Encore. Learn about the many ways you can become involved and take a stand for life during this election year. Our Church, our school, and our God is counting on you to help create a culture of respecting life today
Grandparents Mass: If you are interested in helping out at the Grandparents Mass this Sunday, please see Fr. Tim.
Anyone interested in playing tennis in the spring and hasn't seen Mr. Shannon, there will be a meeting Thursday morning at 7:30 in room 106 or see Mr. Shannon.
Seniors and Juniors--Webster University is sponsoring a done day ACT prep workshop on selected Saturdays. The cost is $25. Check out more information on the bulletin board in the Marianist lobby, from a counselor or in the updates section of Naviance Family Connection.
Representatives from 15 Jesuit colleges will be at a college fair at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel on Thursday, September 13 from 7-8:30 pm. Specific schools in attendance are posted on the flyer on the guidance bulletin board and on Naviance Family Connection.
Griffin LIFE will have our first meeting for all students tonight from 5:00-6:30. We will meet in the Marianist Lobby. If you are interested, come and check out LIFE. It is a great way to connect anew to our Marianist Family.
Sophomores: Please check the Guidance bulletin board in the main hallway outside the Leadership Center for your list of activities for last year. If any activities are missing for you, or there is any other error, please fill out the list in the Leadership Center on the desk outside of Mrs. Czajkowski's office. All corrections must be reported by this Friday, Sept. 7.

A representative for Washington University will be here Monday, September 10th. Sign up in the LLC or through Family Connection by the end of the day Friday.

ATTENTION FRESHMEN: Anyone interested in runningfor Student Council this year MUST attend a mandatory informational meeting this Thursday in Room 402 during Encore. Link Crew Teachers, please allow those students to attend for that day.

If you like sports but don'tplay any or if you're looking to get involved in our school and you don't know what to do, think about becoming an "Athletic Ambassador". If you are interested please see Mr. Cochran in the coaches' office sometime this week.

The B-soccer Jr. Griffins were at it again yesterday defeating the Flyers of Chaminade on their own field 4-0 in the MCC B-soccer Tournament. Brandon Love scored twice on headers from Sean Michel and Alec Roussin. Roussin then scored the third goal of the match off a cross from Joey Delbert and Michel's closed out the scoring off Roussin's second assist of the contest. The shutout was earned by Dakota Thorwegen but anchored by Ryan Behnen, Ryan Nelson, Dominic Barczewski, Brad Nelson, Mitchell Lammert & Sean Michel. The Jr. Griffins play SLUH on Thursday at DeSmet for the tournament championship!

The Freshman Soccer Team defeated Collinsville yesterday by the score of 6 to 1. The goals were scored by Alex Turek-Ash, Alex Kammien, Austin Tapella, Jack Eppy, and Jonathan Antonacci with 2.

Any and all students are welcome to work out in the weight room after school from 3-4 pm. However, if you plan to workout, you must
have an updated physical on file in the office. Please see Coach K. Walsh for more information.

Any basketball player and student interested in supporting the basketball team thru the wearing of Vianney Nike basketball gear
should attend a meeting in the fieldhouse at 7:30 a.m. this Friday. The sale will last for only 10 days. Get your gear while you can!

Juniors--You should have received information at home about a PSAT prep class sponsored by the Princeton Review and held at Vianney. The class will start next Tuesday, September 11th. Please address questions to any of the counselors in the Leadership and Learning Center.
