Nick Alexander has added another impressive achievement to his resume.
Alexander, a 2016 grad, was recently named to the USA Swimming 2018-19 National Team following his strong performance at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships in July.
The USA Swimming National Team selections are the top six swimmers in each individual Olympic event based off the combined results of the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships, 2018 Pan Pacific Championships and 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships.
Alexander recorded the fifth-fastest time for an American swimmer in the 200 back in 2018 when he finished in 1:57.18 in the prelims at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships. He ended up finishing eighth in the event at the Championships with a 1:58.49 in finals.
In addition to his eighth-place finish in the 200 back, he finished 10th in the 100 back, 12th in the 50 back and 15th in the 200 IM at the meet in July.
Alexander's performance at the Phillips 66 National Championships followed a successful sophomore season with the Missouri Tigers, where he placed fifth in the 200 back at the Southeastern Conference Championships and made his first NCAA Championships appearance.
Alexander had a record-setting career at Vianney. He was twice named the St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro boy's swimmer of the year, was a three-time state champion in the 100 back and holds state records in the 100 back and 200 IM.
