Griffin Theater Auditions for Count Dracula: Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM (Call backs, if necessary, on Thursday, September 13, 2012). Auditions will be held in Room 503. There are 7 male and 2 female roles available. Count Dracula is a play in three acts based on Bram Stoker's nineteenth century novel "Dracula." Be prepared for cold readings from the script. Rehearsals will be held on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday nights.
Close Up Program: Since we do not have Encore period today, those who are interested in going to Washington, D.C. on the Close Up Program should come to Room 204 immediately after school for a short informational meeting or see Mr. Travis in room 204 sometime during the day. There will be a Close Up meeting sometime next week as well.
Seniors and Juniors--Webster University is sponsoring a done day ACT prep workshop on selected Saturdays. The cost is $25. Check out more information on the bulletin board in the Marianist lobby, from a counselor or in the updates section of Naviance Family Connection.
Representatives from 15 Jesuit colleges will be at a college fair at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel on Thursday, September 13 from 7-8:30 pm. Specific schools in attendance are posted on the flyer on the guidance bulletin board and on Naviance Family Connection.
Sophomores: Please check the Guidance bulletin board in the main hallway outside the Leadership Center for your list of activities for last year. If any activities are missing for you, or there is any other error, please fill out the list in the Leadership Center on the desk outside of Mrs. Czajkowski's office. All corrections must be reported today.
A representative for Washington University will be here Monday, September 10th. Sign up in the LLC or through Family Connection by the end of the day today.
If you like sports but don't play any or if you're looking to get involved in our school and you don't know what to do, think about becoming an "Athletic Ambassador". If you are interested please see Mr. Cochran in the coaches' office sometime this week.
Juniors--You should have received information at home about a PSAT prep class sponsored by the Princeton Review and held at Vianney. The class will start next Tuesday, September 11th. Please address questions to any of the counselors in the Leadership and Learning Center.
There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in joining the Paintball Club on Thursday September 13 during Encore in room 402.
There will be a meeting for all new and current members of the National Honor Society on Monday, September 10, in room 105 during encore. Attendance is mandatory.
A representative from Drury University will be in the LLC on Tuesday, September 11th. Drury has strong programs in Architecture, Biology, English and Pre-Law. Please sign up through Family Connection or in the LLC by the end of the day Monday.

The Griffin cross country had their first big test of the season in yesterday's Webster Invitational and came away with some career best times and lots of hardware. Jimmy Broyles was the top varsity finisher, Connor Peth was the first JV finisher, and Joe Nelson was the first Griffin freshman. In all 13 medals were won by the harriers. Saturday at noon Eddie Albarran competes in the Forest Park Cross Country Festival.
Any student interested in being a part of the The Griffin, Vianney's School Newspaper, should attend an informational meeting on Monday in room 208 during encore or check in with Mr. Burke sometime today or Monday.
Tomorrow, the Griffin Swimmers and Divers are back in action as they compete in the Ladue Invitational at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. Come out and see the Griffs as they go head to head with some of the top teams in the area. Swimming begins at 10am and Diving begins at 2:15
Any student who wants to by Nike basketball shoes or gear and could not attend the meeting on Friday morning please stop by room 303 and ask Coach K Walsh for details.
The Lettermen's Club will meet on Tuesday in the Field House at Encore. Officers will be selected at this meeting. Those wishing to nominate themselves or others need to see Coach Rhame or Coach Walsh.
