Pro Life Club:  The Pro Life Club will meet Tuesday during Encore. All students are invited to join in our efforts to promote life during this coming year.

The Scramblers will have a brief meeting in Room 106 to discuss Spirit Week today during Encore.

Need tutoring?  Having trouble with math?  Science?  Need help writing a paper?  Our tutor, Ms. Jean Kilper, will begin her after school help on Monday, September 9.  She will be here every Monday and Wednesday after school for an hour.  See your counselor if you are interested in accessing her assistance.

Attention sophomores, juniors and seniors and their parents:  Join Lane Ramey from Rockhurst University on Wednesday at 7 pm in the Vianney media center as he talks about the college search process, the college application process and financial aid for college.  It's not too early nor too late to talk about college planning!

Close Up:  For close to 40 years, Vianney students have enjoyed going on a week-long trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in a program called Close Up.  This year will be no different.  On February 10th, a plane will take this year’s participants to the capital to interface with students from all over the country, and with members of our federal government, in a week-long study of our government in action.    There will be a meeting for any Sophomore, Junior or Senior who is interested in going to Washington, D.C. for this experience on Tuesday during Encore in Room 102.   The cost of the program will be discussed at this meeting.

The following Colleges will have reps on campus in September.  Sign up on Family Connection to schedule yourself to meet with them.

Sr. Garrett Lipic and So. Nick Alexander led the Griffin Swimmers to a 4th place finish in a field of 16 teams at the Ladue Invitational on Saturday--one point behind third place.  Lipic and Alexander both medaled 5 times, with Nick Alexander capturing first place in both the 100 IM and the 100 Backstroke.  Nick's lead-off leg of the 400 Free Relay also qualified him for the state meet in the 100 Freestyle as he shattered the previous school record.  Other individual medalists included Jr. Sam Trenter in diving and Fr. Jake Gauvain in the 500 Freestyle. Next week, the Griffins take on John Burroughs on Tuesday and Kirkwood on Thursday.

In varsity soccer action, it was sophomore Brandon Love who netted both goals in route to a 2-1 victory vs. Clayton over the weekend. The soccer team plays in the annual CBC Tournament this week. Tuesday’s game is at 5pm vs SLUH.
