Chess Intramurals practice & competition begin Monday, September 18. Registration begins today. All students are invited to participate. To register, see Mr. Matreci in room 500 either before school, during Encore, or immediately after school sometime this week. Please note that chess is played in room 500 during Encore every day.

Attention juniors and seniors: If you’re taking the October ACT, the prep course will start next Wednesday. You can take it either at 3:15pm or at 6pm. See Mr. Meyer in the counseling office for more information.
The varsity soccer team concluded the CBC Tournament with a great team effort in beating the host CBC Cadets 3-0. Ryan Puricelli, Kamou Harris, & Ian Sehr were the goal scorers and TJ Reigner posted the shutout. The Griffs are in action again tomorrow night at The Heeb as they begin their MCC schedule vs. DeSmet. Kickoff is 7pm.
The Griffin Harriers competed in the always fast and competitive Northwest Invitational Saturday. Senior Sam Moore once again led the way for the varsity Griffins, finishing in a career best time. Josh Williams was the lead JV harrier. Freshman Ryan Aldridge and Pengkai Li both enjoyed their first competition of their Griffin careers.
Coming this Saturday is the Manmaker.
Anyone interested in playing lacrosse this spring there will be an INFORMATIONAL MEETING on Wednesday September 13th at 7:00 pm in the Griffin Cafe.

Attention all JV football players: Todays game against Battle has been cancelled. Make sure you are at Varsity weights and practice after school.
Today marks the 16th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. All students are encouraged to take a moment and look at the almost 3000 names of those who died in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. Let us all pray for peace in our world and remember that freedom isn’t free. Please consider joining others at our communion service in the Marianist lobby as we remember the dead and pray for an end to terrorism.

Griffin Theatre will hold auditions for the fall production of Arsenic and Old Lace Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7pm in room 503. This comedy classic has roles for 11 men and 3 women. No previous experience is required, just a desire to learn, work hard and have some fun. See Mr. Book for more details.
