The meeting for those students interested in finding more about the week-long trip to Washington, D.C. in February will now be on Thursday in Room 204 during Encore. The Close Up Program is a one-of-kind opportunity for students to experience their government in action. From visits to Washington's famous monuments, memorials and institutions, to meetings with their Congressional delegation on Capitol Hill, you will get a first-hand look at the American political system, and consider what role you, as a student, play in our democracy.

Any student still interested in being a part of the The Griffin, Vianney's School Newspaper, should check in with Mr. Burke in room 208 this week.

Anyone who is eligible and would like to join the Lettermen's Club but missed yesterday's meeting should stop by room 305 to sign up.

All Ping Pong-thletes, there is a two minute meeting in room 209 after school today. After serving a long and difficult suspension, the Ping Pong Club is returning stronger and more responsible. In last night's home opener, it was the varsity soccer team winning their second game in a row by defeating the Parkway Central Colts 3-1. It was an all-senior scoring affair as Blake Smugala, Will Brockmeyer, & Kyle Barnes all chipped in with goals. The varsity soccer team's next match is Saturday evening at home vs. Oakville at 7pm.

Well the B-soccer team was at it again and in record setting fashion! Before most fans and their teammates had found their seats the JR. Griffins had scored twice in 26 SECONDS! And even more amazing, the Colts from Parkway Central kicked-off both times.. 16 seconds after kick-off Brandon Love scored off a pass from Joey Delbert. Then 10 seconds later Delbert scored off a pass from Anthony "AC" Christante. #3 was scored by Will Klages from Tim Lupo and #4 was by Love again from Delbert. #5 was scored by Lupo off a pass from Matt Schneider just before halftime. Then just after the 2nd half started, Schneider scored off another Lupo assist and AC closed out the scoring on an unassisted break-a-way with 8 minutes left in the game to make it 7 - nil. Matt Bokamper got another shutout that was assisted by a variety of Jr. Griffin defenders.
