ALL: The Cafe will be closed this Friday during Encore to all but LINK Crew participants.

Freshmen: All freshmen who are not in Mandatory Encore must report directly to the Field House during Encore today for their freshman class meeting.

National Honor Society members who have signed up to set up tables for the Vianney College Fair tonight, should meet at the field house at 2:50. Those who are tearing down after the college fair should meet in the back of the field house by 8:30. We should finish in about 30 minutes.

If you will 18 on or before Election Day, Nov. 6, and would like to vote in the election, see Mr. Matreci in the office to register by October 10. Also, seniors, if you are 18 and want to be considered for any federal financial aid for college, you must register with Selective Service. You can also do that with Mr. Matreci anytime.

The following college reps will be on campus this week. Sign up in the LLC or online by the end of the day BEFORE the visit.

The Vianney College Fair will be held tonight from 7-8:30. There will be 130 colleges on our campus, so please make time to attend. This is a great opportunity for all the Vianney students, Freshmen through Seniors. Check out the list of you received in your school e-mail.

Attention all new and previously inducted members of the Spanish Honor Society; There is a mandatory meeting today during Encore in room 503--note--the meeting is in room 503. We will induct new members and make plans for Hats on Day. The membership list for the society is posted outside room 408. See Mrs. Fullenkamp if you have questions.

Justice Immersion Retreat for Juniors and Seniors: Juniors and Seniors interested in going to Chicago Oct. 26-28 to participate in a a social justice retreat may apply through Fr. Tim. Time will be given for prayer and reflection while working directly with the poor. Pick up a flyer with information and consider applying during the month of September. This may count for your annual retreat at Vianney . Limited enrollment.

Student Service Hours Available this Saturday: This Saturday the Marianist Retreat and Conference Center will hold a Trivia Night here at Vianney. We are looking for a few good men who would like to do some service work and obtain service points by working on this night. This is a fun night to work and if you happen to be behind in your service hour commitments, please consider. Sign up with Fr. Tim or Mr. Dailey.

Seniors: The Horatio Alger Association provides financial assistance to students who have a financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Scholarships range from $5000 to $20,000. More information can be found on the Guidance bulletin board, on Family Connection or see a counselor.

There will be a short Close Up meeting on Friday during Encore in Room 204 for those who have shown interest in going to Washington, D.C. in February on the Close Up Program. If you did not make last week's meeting but would still like to get moe information on this interactive program with students from around the country, then join us on Friday in Room 204.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Check out the guidance bulletin board for 2 exciting evening programs coming up very soon. Learn about the Colleges That Change Lives on Monday, September 24 at Lindbergh High and/or attend an information session on Monday, October 15 with representatives from Dartmouth, Northwestern, Princeton, Cal-Berkeley and Vanderbilt. There will be a meeting for all new and former members of the Science Honor Society on Friday, September 21, in room 105 during encore.

Mr. Cochran will be selling student athletic event passes at all lunches on Thursday, September 20 and Friday, September 21. Each pass is $25.00. Students will need to bring their "Student ID"; the passes will go on the back of the ID. Seniors, use last year's ID if you did not receive one with your senior pictures.

Attention, Scouts: The Eagle Group will meet on Friday in the Library. Also, Bro. Andy will start a groups for the Pope Pius XII Award. See him in the library for more details.

ALL LACROSSE PLAYERS: If you signed up to order team gloves or are still interested in ordering a pair, and did not attend Tuesday's follow up meeting please come by ROOM 108 at 2:45 today.

The Mu Alpha Theta induction ceremony will be held under the pavilion (next to the football field) during encore on Monday, September 24th. All officers and new members must be in attendance. The ceremony will begin at 9:15, so please be prompt.
RACQUETBALL --- If you missed the informational meeting on Wednesday you can still sign up. Come by 310 During Encore TODAY or FRIDAY to pick up the information packet. ALL FORMS ARE DUE MONDAY SEPT 24th!!!

The Griffin Swimmers ran their record to 3-2 by sweeping a tri-meet at Affton against both Affton and DuBourg yesterday. The Griffins won all 11 events. Individual winners included Nick Wojciechowski (200 Free), Kevin Ogle (200IM), Ben Dombrowski (50 Free), Chris Roseman (100 Fly), Allen Bitzer (100 Free), Nick Alexander (500 Free), Austin Hanse (100 Back) and Sam Reynolds (100 Breaststroke). Freshman Nick Alexander took down another school record beating the 27 year old 500 Freestyle record by almost fifteen seconds, setting an new time of 4:52.89 in the event. Nick also became the first Griffin swimmer to ever qualify for four events at the State Meet in the same season.



There will be a meeting of all new and returning members of the Science Honor Society, Friday, September 21, in room 105 during encore. New members' names are posted on the list outside Room 105.
