There will be a Fall Athletic Apostles meeting on Wednesday, September 21 at 8:00 a.m. in room PE 500. All fall apostles should plan on attending.

The Vianney Investment Club will hold its first meeting of the year today after school in room 310. In order to be eligible for activity points all members must attend at least 2 meetings before the end of the semester. See you after school!

Chess intramurals begin this week.  Practices are scheduled for today and Wednesday, after school dismissal in room 109, and round one competition is scheduled for Thursday after school.  Students may register at any of the practices.  All students are welcome.

National Honor Society members - Due to the assembly during Encore this morning, we will not meet.  However, please remember to sign up for College Fair Set-Up or Clean-Up.  And please meet for a VERY brief meeting right after school today in room 209.  I repeat, all NHS members to meet in room 209 directly after school.

Any student wishing to try out for baseball this upcoming spring is reminded that Coach Brown would like for you to fill out the player information form on the baseball website and that there will be a player/parent meeting, in the Griffin Cafe, next Monday, September 26.  The meeting will start at 6:00 pm and last for one hour.

Reminder that Griffin Theatre is holding auditions for the fall production of Cyrano de Bergerac tonight and Wednesday at 7pm in room 503. Auditions will consists of cold readings from the script. This is a large ensemble show so it is the perfect opportunity to try something new. See Mr. Book if you have any questions.

Despite winning 7 of the 11 events, the Griffin Swimmers lost to DeSmet 95-74 yesterday. Both Paul Hoffman and Sam Biffignani were double winners--Paul took first in both the 200 IM and 100 Free while Sam won both the 50 and 500 Free. Drew Sandweg won the 200 Free and Jake Gauvain took first in the 100 Back. Paul, Sam, Drew and Jake teamed up to win the 400 Free Relay as well. Next up for the Griffins are the Affton Cougars on Wednesday.

The varsity soccer team defeated a tough Waterloo High School team by a score of 3-1 last night in pool play of the CYC Tournament.  In front of some incredible saves by junior TJ Reigner, the Griffs scored 2 goals in the first half by Steven Bibas and added another late in the game by senior Zach Ellis.  The Griffins play O’Fallon tonight at 7:45pm at the Soccer Park.

ALL CURRENT and POTENTIAL LACROSSE PLAYERS: There will be an INFORMATIONAL MEETING for all players and parents on TUESDAY SEPT. 27th at 7:00 pm in the Griffin Cafe. Questions? See Coach Stein in Room 404.
