Good morning GRIFFINS this is your VIANNEY DAILY!

 

After a 12 day layoff the Griffins Swimmers were back in action with an 88-81 victory over DeSmet.  Winners for the Griffins included Sr. Nick Alexander in the 50 and 100 Freestyles and Jr. Jake Gauvain in the 100 Fly and 100 Back.  Nick Alexander broke is own school record in the 50 Free while setting his 4th pool record at Chaminade.  The 200 Medley Relay of Gauvain, Alexander, Mitch Gerth and Ben Greene as well as the 400 Free Relay of Alexander, Gauvain, Greene and Chris Raeber were also winners.  The team takes on Affton tomorrow at 4:15 at Affton."

 

The Freshman football team got their first big win of the year, trouncing the Holt Indians 35-0. The defense played very well in the shutout. TD's were scored by Tyler Moore and Max Hinton with two a piece and Nick Kriska punched one in as well. No rest for the C team though as they take on Chaminade at home this Thursday at 4:30pm.

 

On Thursday Representatives from Bradley University and the University of Notre Dame will be here to meet with students. Please sign up on Naviance if you would like to attend.

 

Bocce guys, if you missed the encore meeting this morning, come pick up a schedule and roster after school from Mr. Kheriaty in room 109. Bocce starts this Thursday.

 

Anyone interested in buying Under Armour basketball shoes at a discounted rate as well as Vianney basketball hoodies, T-Shirts, sweatpants please attend a meeting at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning in the field house.

CHESS INTRAMURALS CONTINUE THIS WEEK.  PRACTICES ARE SCHEDULED MONDAY, TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY AFTERSCHOOL IN ROOM 208,AND ROUND THREE COMPETITION IS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY.  NEW PLAYERS ARE WELCOME.  ROUND TWO WINNERS WERE JACOB FARRELL, MARSHALL HARNEY, GAGE KRAMER, JOE RAIDT, JOHN BRENNAN, ERIC KAISER AND GAVIN HENSEL. 

Attention robotics club members:  this is a reminder that there will be a robotics workshop this Saturday at Flo Valley community college.   Topics will include best practices in building the robot, tips on what the judges like to see at the qualification matches, and the new android-based programming platform.   Please see Mr. Prost for more information

 

Any senior NHS member who missed Friday's meeting needs to come to room 209 to get the information and sign up for tutoring.

 

Homecoming is HERE! Sign ups for the homecoming dance are online this year. Pick up the instructions from the Main Office, The Gear Store, or from Mr. Lewis in Room 310. Sign ups are due by September 24th!
