Teachers you are asked to send anyone down to Mr. Brown in the main office who is out of dress code or in need of shaving.

 

Junior Achievement:  The registration deadline for the JA Program for this year is next Monday, September 30.  You are encouraged to sign up online at www.jastl.org  or, if you prefer, paper applications are available in the Main Office.  Completed paper applications must be returned to the Main Office by Thursday, September 26 since we have no school on Friday or Monday.

 

Attention all members of the Spanish Honor Society--there is a mandatory meeting of the Society today, September 23 during Encore in room 408. We will nominate for officers, discuss Hats On Day, which is next week, and talk about induction. See Mrs. Fullenkamp for information.

 

Hats On Day for kids with cancer is Wednesday! Help the Spanish Honor Society support Friends of Kids with Cancer in their great work. Wear a hat--make a donation.

 

Connect Home Solutions is looking for students to work part time - after school and on weekends (12-15 hours a week). CHS is an online & door-to-door marketing company that connects homeowners with quality contractors in the St. Louis area. If you want to find out what that means, you'll have to come to our next Robotics meeting on Tuesday in room 204 to find out.  While you're there, we will introduce Mr. Tony Strawhun, an engineer with Afton Chemical who will serve as our professional FTC mentor.  We will also start working on Labview programming tutorials, and collaborate on the construction of the "block party" simulation field...be there!!

Over the weekend the varsity soccer team went 2-0 in Springfield, MO in defeating Nixa and Springfield Glendale by scores of 2-0 and 4-2. The soccer team plays in the CYC tournament this week at Soccer Park. Tonight's game is at 6pm vs Kirkwood.

 

All wrestlers: There will be a mandatory meeting after school on Wednesday in the activity center. 

 

Anyone interested in purchasing Nike sponsored Vianney Basketball Gear (hoodies, tshirts, polos, sweat pants, and pullovers) and/or  Nike Basketball Shoes at a discount of 40% off retail price should attend a brief meeting in the fieldhouse on Tuesday morning at 7:35 a.m.  Questions? All Swimmers are reminded to check the Bulletin board outside Room 107 for today's workout locations.  Those scheduled for the weight room should be in PE clothes.

Link crew and freshman: link crew is officially over! Upper coachman thank you for your help. Freshman make sure to make smart decisions and use your free encore time wisely!

Racquetball: first official racquetball practice is tonight. All players are too attend practice tonight from 8-10 pm at Vetta Concord. If you are still interested in playing this year and have not signed up yet that's OK see Mr. Lewis in 310 about attending a free practice session with the team to see all the excitement !!!!!

There will be a meeting for all members of the National Honor Society on Wednesday, after school in room 105.  We will be planning for the Academic Decathlon.  Anyone unable to attend needs to see Mr. Redman before the meeting. 

Junior members of the National Honor Society should come by room 105 during encore on Tuesday, Sept. 24, to vote for officers.

This week we begin our second round of Class Meetings during Encore.  Schedule goes as follows: Monday-Sophomores; Tuesday-Seniors and Thursday-Juniors. Freshman, your Class Meeting will be on Tuesday of next week during Encore.  Students in Mandatory Encore must attend Mandatory Encore.

ALL Ambassadors have a mandatory meeting today during Encore in the Activity Center. This meeting will be brief but is VERY important.  It should only take 10 minutes.

This Thursday there will be a mandatory meeting for everyone that is interested in trying out for baseball this spring for Vianney.  The meeting will start at 5:30 pm in the Griffin Cafe and the player and at least one parent must be in attendance. The meeting will last one hour.  If you are unable to make it you must contact Coach Scott Brown for a makeup time.  If you are on the freshman football team your meeting will be held following your game on Thursday.

Freshmen this is a reminder that your class retreat is this Thursday. Please report directly to the field house. We will be returning by 2:40 and lunch will be provided. Feel free to wear a Vianney tshirt and shorts or jeans. 

 

Griffin Life will meet Tuesday night at 5:30. Come join in the discussion as we talk about different types of prayer. 

Ping Pong club is canceled for today so that the floors in the 200 hallway may be buffed in preparation for Tuesday's highschool night. We will resume on Friday.

 

The Bocce club is forming teams for this season. If you want to reserve a spot, please sign up with Mr. Kheriaty by Thursday. If you missed the opening meeting, stop by 209 to pick up the information.
