ALL RETURNING AND PROSPECTIVE LACROSSE PLAYERS:
There is a short Fall Player/Parent meeting on Thursday, October 1st at 7pm in the Griffin Cafe.

This meeting is mandatory for all players wanting to play Vianney Lacrosse and we highly encourage at least one parent to attend this meeting as we will discuss many important items.

The JV cross country team not only won the Hillsboro Invitational, they were one spot away from a perfect score.  Zach Layton won the race, Pat Trani, Sam Moore, Lucas Mead and Brendan Flynn medaled in the top six.  Nate Alexander, Alec Poulsen, and Luke Miller medaled for the freshman team pacing them to a 2nd place finish.  Joe Nelson paced the Varsity squad to an 8th place finish.

The Freshman Black Soccer team defeated Oakville yesterday by the score of 7 - 0. The Goals were scored by Zach Poelzl (2) Tommy Goeders, Dominic Cissi, Marty Thomas Matt Cash and Sam Stockman. The shutout was recorded by Grant Atwood and Tyler Harris.



National Honor Society will meet Friday during encore in room 209.  This is an important meeting, as we will be communicating the details of members' duties during the Academic Decathlon which will take place on Monday.

 

Speech and Debate meeting on 10/5 during Encore in room 301.

 

The robotics club will meet this afternoon in room 202.   Jim Howard from Boeing will be here to discuss team organization and job responsibilities for all team members.    See Mr. Prost for more information.

 

The Freshman Football team got their second win in a week last Thursday pounding Chaminade 42-7 last Thursday. TD's were scored by Ryan Waller and Tyler Moore with two a piece and Max Hinton and Nick Kriska with one a piece. Next up at DeSmet next Monday.

 

Juniors Applying to be Kairos Leaders:  Those Juniors who would like to apply to be a Kairos leader for next year are reminded to get your applications in this week. To be considered for the Oct 12-14 retreat you must act on this asap.

 

Cardboard Village:  Vianney and Ursuline are teaming up to address homelessness by coming together for Cardboard Village. Information is on the campus ministry bulletin board. This experience will be the evening of Oct. 17th. Please sign up in campus ministry.

 

World Food Night:  Come join students throughout the St. Louis area to package food for the poor on the evening of Oct. 16th from 8-11pm. This is a great opportunity to get some service hours. Please see Junior Paul Morrison or Fr. Tim to sign up.

Anyone that is interested in trying out for baseball this spring must attend a mandatory meeting this coming TODAY- Wednesday, September 30 at 6:00 pm in the Vianney Cafe.  You must be accompanied by one of your parents.  This meeting will go over the new field, a list of apparel items, shoes that we will be ordering, and all off season conditioning information.  Make plans early to attend and let your parents know.  

 

On Tuesday representatives from William Jewel College, Drury University, and Columbia College will be here to meet with students in the Leadership Center. Please sign up on Naviance if you would like to attend.

 

Bocce guys, if you missed the encore meeting this morning, come pick up a schedule and roster after school from Mr. Kheriaty in room 109. Bocce starts this Thursday.
