Christ tells us that some demons are only driven out through prayer and sacrifice. Consider sacrificing some sleep on tomorrow morning, attending the Prolife Club meeting in room 209 at 8:15am, and praying for an end to abortion.

There will be a meeting for all members of the National Honor Society on Thursday during encore, to finalize plans for the Academic Decathlon.  

 

Griffin Theatre will hold auditions for the first production of this season, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. Auditions will be held tonight and on Thursday, October 3rd. There are 17 male roles available. More information is available on the Vianney website or see Mr. Book in room 503.  There will be a special screening of Kenneth Branagh’s film Much Ado About Nothing at 7:00 pm on Sunday evening, September 29, for those who would like to see what the play is about.

Each year, the Annual Catholic Appeal (“ACA”) brings Catholics throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis together to answer the Gospel call of Christ to serve others.   Archbishop Robert J. Carlson and the ACA Council invite all JUNIORS who attend a Catholic High School to participate in the 2013-2014 ACA Essay Scholarship Contest. Essays are due to Mrs. Mitchell no later than Friday.  For questions and essay guidelines, see Mrs. Mitchell in 104  or her Vianney  webpage.

Freshmen—all freshmen except those in Mandatory Encore must report to the Field House during Encore for a class meeting.

CLOSE UP MEETING FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN GOING TO WASHINGTON DC IN FEBRUARY WILL BE HELD IN ROOM 102 THURSDAY DURING ENCORE. THERE IS STILL TIME FOR NEWCOMERS TO JOIN THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY SHOWN INTEREST.

Hockey News:  Vianney plays Oakville on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Webster Rink, 8:45 pm.  Make it a BLACKOUT!

Seniors:  On Saturday, October 5, the senior parents are sponsoring Mouse Races to help fund your graduation all-night party.  We are looking for volunteers to help that night (6:30 to about 11:00) by selling raffle tickets, etc.  If you would like to volunteer, see Mr. Matreci.

It was a busy weekend for the Vianney cross country team.  Saturday they competed in the historic Hancock Invitational at Jefferson Barracks park.  Sean Meyer was the top varsity runner while Alex Horn led the JV squad.  Almost three quarters of the team hit career best marks.  Monday the JV and Freshman ran just down the street at the Kirkwood Blowpop.  Colin Thierry led the JV squad while Gage Kramer was top Freshman.

 

Any students interested in a career in sports management or sports business--join the Rams on Sunday, November 3 to get a behind the scenes look at this industry.  In addition to attending the Rams game at noon, participate in a college fair and join a Q and A with Rams front office personnel.  Ticket information is posted on the guidance bulletin board or see your counselor for more information.

 

The Freshman Soccer Team improved its' record to 8 - 3 on Saturday by defeating Desmet 3 - 0. The goals were scored by Jake Pilla, Tommy Fey and Dennis Vasquez. The shutout was recorded by Connor Grzovic and Tommy Sauer.

The Griffins Swimmers and Diver are back in action today as they take on Westminster Christian Academy at 4pm at Westminster--located at I-64 and Maryville Centre Drive.
