Juniors and Seniors: Registration for Junior and Senior retreat opportunities are now open for registration on the Vianney website. There are multiple retreat opportunities available to you, including Kairos for seniors and the traditional Junior retreat. Cardboard Village in November, the March for Life in Washington D.C at the end of January, the Lenten Retreat in March, and the Service Immersion trip to Chicago next month can all be used as your required retreat for the year. Registration and more information on these retreat opportunities is also available on the website. Registration for all Junior and Seniors needs to be completed by Friday, October 12th. The links for registration can be found on the Retreat Program page under the Faith Formation section of Vianney's website. If you have any questions please visit Mr. Remiger in the Campus Ministry office.

Seniors: If you have gift cards for the trivia night from your parents, please bring them to Mr. Matreci in the Office.

The Ping Pong Club will meet in the 200 hallway on Tuesday and Friday, eat pizza and play Ping Pong.

Plato's Closet is offering a $500.00 scholarship to the student ho has helped to "reduce, reuse or recycle". Tell your story in a one page summary. Find out more details on the Guidance bulletin board, in the Updates section of Naviance Family Connection or see a counselor.

The 2013 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest is open to students in grades 9-12. A 1000 word or less essay is required demonstrating an understanding of political courage as described by President Kennedy in Profiles in Courage. More information is available on the Guidance bulletin board or in the Update section of Naviance Family Connection.

All: Griffin LIFE will meet tonight from 5:30-7:30. Our topic will be Pro-Life issues, so if you care about justice for all people, please come out!

ALL LACROSSE PLAYERS and those interested in lacrosse: There will be a PARENT/PLAYER meeting on Tuesday October 9th at 7:00 pm in the Griffin Café. This meeting is for interested players Freshmen through Seniors. Questions? See Coach Stein.

On Monday, October 1, the Griffin Junior Varsity football team recorded its second win of the season, defeating the Washington Blue Jays 22-18. Leading the way for the offense with strong rushing efforts were Corey Watson, Nick Hebenstreit, and Nick Lowe. Dillon Heeb had a nice day passing the ball, going 6 for 9 with a touchdown pass. Jeff Becker, Mitch Yant, and Corey Jokerst all recorded multi-catch days . Defensively, John Hooper led the way with 2 interceptions. Austin LaBarge and Nick Lowe also contributed interceptions to the strong defensive effort. Leading tacklers for the day included Joe Rearden, Nick Hebenstreit, Nick Lowe, and Michael Lynch. With the win, the Griffin Junior Varsity improves their record to 2-3 on the year. The Griffin Junior Varsity football team will again be in action next Tuesday, October 9, 2012 here at Vianney against Chaminade at 6:00 pm.

BASEBALL APPAREL FOR SALE: This is a reminder that you have until this Friday, October 5 if you would like to order some baseball apparel in the first order. You can go to the Baseball page on the Vianney website and see what we have to offer and fill out a order form. don't be left out only 3 days left in the early bird ordering. Everyone is welcome to order. It is not just for baseball players.

The B-soccer Jr. Griffins are back in the groove, winning a "RARE" doubleheader yesterday. In first match of the day, the Jr. Griffs dispatched DeSmet 4 - nil in the Semi-finals of the Summit JV Tournament with goals being scored by Matt Schneider, Joey Delbert two times & Brandon Love. Assisting on the goals were; Delbert two times, Anthony Christante & Nick Auck with Dakota Thorwegen registering the shutout! Then in the night-cap at home, the Jr. Griffs really came alive lighting-up Collinsville 8- nil.
Matt Bokamper was credited with the shutout and scoring was done by Schneider, William Klages, Auck, Ryan Kopp, Brandon Ochterbeck, Sean Michel and two by Brendan Tierney. Getting assists were; Auck, R.Kopp, Love, Brad Nelson, Mitch Lammert and Dominic Barczewski.

Three seniors scored goals last night as the varsity soccer team got back in the win column. Goals by Kevin Dvorak, Will Brockmeyer, and Vince Riggio led the Griffins to a 3-0 shutout victory over Collinsville. The shutout was shared by Michael Allen and Kyle Bennett in goal. The varsity is back in action at home on Thursday night at 6:00 vs. Eureka.
