MONDAY, OCTOBER 3

The Government & Politics Club will meet in room 500 after school on Wednesday from 2:50 to 3:45.  We will be discussing last week’s debate.  All are welcome.

There will be an informational meeting for any student interested in Speech/Debate/Mock Trial on Tuesday during Encore in room 301.  For questions please see Dr. Finley

Vianney Racquetball opens its season with the 1st practice tonight at Vetta Concord. Please arrive by 7:45pm if you have not turned in your info packet yet please see Mr. Lewis

Pope Francis says “All wars, all struggles, all problems that are not resolved... are due to a lack of dialogue,” The Vianney Pro-life Club invites you to engage in real dialogue about meaningful subjects. We will practice three simple steps: ask questions, build common ground, and challenge with humility. We have pizza and soda, so you can come right from practice. Wednesday. 6 pm. Sign up with Fr. Tim or Mr. Kheriaty.

Don’t forget….the BBQ Club is traveling to Smoking Barrels in South City today for lunch.  We will meet in the Commons at 11:45.  All are welcome.  If you have not signed up see Mr. Cerone in the Advancement Office.  

The Griffin Swimmers posted a solid 14th place finish out of 23 schools at the Cape Rock Invitational on Saturday in Cape Girardeau.  Jake Gauvain, Paul Hoffman and Sam Biffignani teamed with Logan Schafer in the 200 Medley Relay and Drew Sandweg in the 400 Free Relay to take 15th and 11th places, respectively.  The big story was Senior Jake Gauvain qualifying for the MO State Swimming Championships in both the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Fly.  This is the first time Jake has qualified in 2 individual events.  The team takes on 8 other local schools this Wednesday and Thursday in the Rockwood Summit Invitational.

The Griffin Harriers traveled to Camdenton for the Laker Invitational Saturday.  Zach Layton and Pat Trani medaled for the varsity, leading them to a 4th place finish.  Hans Mohr and Joe Mastis medaled leading the JV to 3rd place, both out of 18 teams.

Reminder to all of those Seniors who are representing your Griffin Game teams with Bowling and Mini-Golf.  Competition is at Concord Bowl and Arizona Golf which is part of Concord Bowl.  Play starts at 12:30 pm but we will send some groups out as early as 12:15 pm when you get there.  Please be careful driving down Lindbergh to get there.  You are representing Vianney.  If you need directions see me during the day or at dismissal.

Reminder to Griffin Game Governor’s that I need the name of those golfers and bowlers if you have not already given them to me.  Also, on Friday we will have our Punt Pass & Kick competition.  you will need 1 competitor for each of the 3 events.  Please start organizing those competitors this week.

If you graduated from Holy Cross Academy, or you are just looking for some service hour opportunities, Holy Cross Academy would like ten Vianney students to work Providence Fest this Saturday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Please see Mr. Kheriaty to sign up.

Ambassadors who are working the Academic Decathlon today are asked to report to Mrs. Sabatino for your duties once your are dressed and ready.

All student Eucharistic ministers are asked to see Fr. Tim today to pick up your schedules for tomorrow’s mass.

Congratulations to senior Paul Morrison for being inducted as an Eagle Scout yesterday afternoon.

Any student interested in traveling to Washington, DC for the March for Life Pilgrimage with 1600 teenagers in Saint Louis, please apply through Fr.Tim or Mr. Kheriaty. Applications are due by Wednesday of this week.

Freshman STUCO applications are due to Mr. Lewis by Wednesday of this week including your typed speech.
