Juniors and Seniors: Registration for Junior and Senior retreat opportunities are now open for registration on the Vianney website. There are multiple retreat opportunities available to you, including Kairos for seniors and the traditional Junior retreat. Cardboard Village in November, the March for Life in Washington D.C at the end of January, the Lenten Retreat in March, and the Service Immersion trip to Chicago next month can all be used as your required retreat for the year. Registration and more information on these retreat opportunities is also available on the website. Registration for all Junior and Seniors needs to be completed by Friday, October 12th. The links for registration can be found on the Retreat Program page under the Faith Formation section of Vianney's website. If you have any questions please visit Mr. Remiger in the Campus Ministry office.

The last day to register to vote in this year's election is Tuesday next week. See Mr. Matreci to register.

Seniors: If you have gift cards for the trivia night from your parents, please bring them to Mr. Matreci in the Office.

The Ping Pong Club will meet in the 200 hallway on Tuesday and Friday, eat pizza and play Ping Pong.

Plato's Closet is offering a $500.00 scholarship to the student who has helped to "reduce, reuse or recycle". Tell your story in a one page summary. Find out more details on the Guidance bulletin board, in the Updates section of Naviance Family Connection or see a counselor.

The 2013 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest is open to students in grades 9-12. A 1000 word or less essay is required demonstrating an understanding of political courage as described by President Kennedy in Profiles in Courage. More information is available on the Guidance bulletin board or in the Update section of Naviance Family Connection.

ALL LACROSSE PLAYERS and those interested in lacrosse: There will be a PARENT/PLAYER meeting on Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the Griffin Café. This meeting is for interested players Freshmen through Seniors. Questions? See Coach Stein.

BASEBALL APPAREL FOR SALE: This is a reminder that you have until this Friday if you would like to order some baseball apparel in the first order. You can go to the Baseball page on the Vianney website and see what we have to offer and fill out an order form. don't be left out only 3 days left in the early bird ordering. Everyone is welcome to order. It is not just for baseball players.

Students who would like to join the Environmental Club should meet in room 305 on Friday during Encore. Anyone who is unable to attend should see Mr. C. Walsh.

Freshmen and sophomores who did not pick up school pictures after school on Tuesday or Wednesday can do so in the Office at Encore of after school today. Juniors will be able to pick up their pictures this afternoon at dismissal in the Commons.

If you are interested in being a part of the wrestling team this year there will be an informational meeting Friday, Oct. 5 in the Activity Center during Encore.

The Griffin Swimmers had a big night at the Prelims of the Summit Invitational yesterday. For tonight's swimming finals, Vianney will have three #1 seeds--Nick Alexander in the 200 IM and 100 Back and Sam Reynolds in the 50 Free. Sam's top time in the 50 also qualified him for the State Meet for the second year in a row. The 400 Free Relay team of Reynolds, Alexander, Brendan Keller and Garrett Lipic also broke their own School Record and, as well, lowering their state qualifying time in that event. Action begins this afternoon at 4:30 when Alex Feicht, Brett Zavadil and Sam Trenter compete in the diving championships and continues at 7pm with the Swimming finals. Championship swimmers for the Griffins include Nick Alexander, Sam Reynolds, Brendan Keller, and Garrett Lipic in a total of six events. Drive out to Summit and cheer on your Griffin Swimmers and Divers.

RACQUETBALL -- The Racquetball team has a strong showing early in the season. With a total of 24 players (the largest team in years) this could be a break out year for Vianney. Practices continue Monday from 8-10 pm at Vetta Sports Concord. All players are expected to be present every Monday for Practice. Matches start October 29th. See Mr. Lewis in 310 with any questions.
