Stuco:  Today we have FROSH Student Council Speeches & Elections during Encore. ALL freshmen (minus those in Mandatory Encore) are to report to the Field House at that time.

 

Mother Son Mass:  any student interested in assisting in some way with the Mother Son Mass, please see Fr. Tim. The Mother Son Mass will take place Oct. 20th at 9:30am. 

 

There are still a number of picture packets from the August picture day that have not been picked up in the Main Office.  If you had pictures taken in August and have not received them, please stop by the office to pick them up.

 

Volunteers needed for Trivia Night:  Any student who would like to get in some service hours might consider volunteering to work at the Marianist Retreat Center trivia night here at Vianney this Saturday. For more information please see Fr. Tim. It's a great night and you will enjoy yourself.

 

Seniors attending Kairos next week:  All seniors attending the Kairos retreat next week are required to meet in the chapel on Thursday during Encore for a brief meeting. Please see Fr. Tim if you cannot be present. 

 

Anyone interested in playing tennis in the spring will meet in room 308 today during encore.  If you can't make it see Mr. Shannon.

 

Attention seniors--Be sure to check out the scholarship section of Family Connection for some new scholarship opportunities including Eagle Scout of the Year and the Earl Collins Foundation of Kiwanis International.

 

There will be an Athletic Apostles meeting on Wednesday, October 16 at 8:00 a.m. in the Coaches Office. Seniors are not required to attend.

 

You are cordially invited to join the Lettermen's Club today during Encore in room 305.  Anyone who has earned numerals or a letter for participating on a Vianney sports team is welcomed to join.  Our inaugural event will be a dodge ball tournament on Sat Oct 19th to benefit our Special Olympics event in the spring.  Come join the fun.

 

BASEBALL: This is a reminder that Coach Brown would like everyone that is going to tryout for baseball this spring to fill out the Player Questionnaire that can be found on the baseball website.

 

The Vianney Environmental Club will have its first meeting of the year in Room 305 on Friday during encore.  The club's purpose is to promote environmental awareness at Vianney.   

 

Are you thinking DODGEBALL?  GREAT!!!!!

 

There will be an important informational meeting today @3pm in the Activity Center for everyone interested in wrestling this year. 

 

The Griffin Cross Country team winds its way down to the jewel of St. Louis, Forest Park, for the MCC Championships today.  The Varsity race begins at 4:30 on the Central Fields just east of the Jewel Box.

 

Our B-soccer Jr. Griffins hosted the DeSmet Spartan JV-soccer team yesterday on a soggy pitch in the "Heeb".  Scoring for the Jr. Griffins were:  Mark Pelizzaro un-assisted, Alex Kammien off a Turner Hutcheson assist, Will Klages from Jack Dehner, Zach Brockmeyer opened his goal scoring account thanks to a niffy pass from Dehner for his second assist of the match and finally Austin Tapella closed out the scoring off a long break-away pass from Zach "Turbo" Ellis.  B-soccer is back at it tomorrow with a 5pm kick-off in the Red Devils lair.

 

Attention all Lacrosse players that intend to try out for varsity.  There is a fall ball practice at Vianney this Saturday, October 12th, from 10am til noon.

 

Don't forget:  There will be an important informational meeting Thursday @ 3pm in the Activity Center for everyone interested in wrestling this year.  If you can't make this meeting please stop by the coaches office during encore for some important information.
