Thursday, All Saints Day, is a dress-up day for all students. Archbishop Carlson will be here for Mass.

Students who have not turned in service hours for the 2011-2012 school year need to have all service forms turned in by Oct. 31st. If they are not received by the end of the month detentions will be issued. There has been plenty of extra time given for this -- it was all due on the first day of school this year. A list of students from 2014 and 2015 who have not turned in hours can be found on the campus ministry bulletin board. hours is Oct. Again the deadline to turn in your hours is October 31st.

Jamaica Mission Trip: If you missed the information meeting last week, catch the spirit this morning in chapel around JAMAICA at Encore.. Information is power. Come learn about how you might serve in Jamaica at the end of May. Don't let money keep you away. Where there is a will, there is a way. Think Jamaica and come to the chapel at Encore.

Pro Life Trip: Come and learn about our trip to Washington, D.C. in January. An information meeting will take place tomorrow during Encore in chapel. . Stand up for life and come to learn how you might walk for life in Washington, D.C.

 

There will be a meeting of the Science Honor Society on Tuesday in room 105 at encore.

The Robotics club finally has its robot! Members of the robotics club should meet in room 207 (Mr. Scanlon's room) immediately after school today to start the assembly process. We have a tournament in January, so we've got our work cut out for us...hope to see you there!

Any student trying out for the sophomore basketball team will report to the track on Monday at 5:15 for pre-practice conditioning. Please bring appropriate dress and shoes for work on the track.

Juniors who are interested in being student leaders for 2013-2014 Kairos retreats need to pick up Student Leader applications from Mr. Remiger in the Campus Ministry office, all applications need to be turned in by November 9th.

Juniors and seniors: if you want to sign up for the upcoming ACT course, you have until Thursday. This course will help students who are taking the ACT in December. See Mr. Meyer in the counseling office to sign up.

Congratulations to Luke Tackes as he rolled a personal best of 236 yesterday in conference play at bowling. This keeps him in the hunt for the top bowler of the conference. The next match is on Sat., Nov. 3 at Lakeside at 9:00 AM.

Eddie Albarran has qualified for the state cross country meet two years in a row with his 24th place finish in Saturday's sectional meet. Eddie will be competing this Saturday in Jefferson City at 9:30 am. Bryan O'Leary and Andy Burk were the only Griffin representatives in the JV with Bryan completing his high school cross country career in very competitive fashion.

B-soccer moves on to the Semi-finals of the CBC JV/B Challange Tournament. The Jr. Griffins continue their winning ways by avenging a loss to DeSmet two weeks ago by putting four in the back of the net and holding the Spartans scoreless. The 4-nil victory was a complete team effort, back-stopped by the tri of Dakota Thorwegen, Matt Bokamper & Brandon Ochterbeck who combined for the shutout. The scoring was done by Brandon Love assisted by Joey Delbert, Lovie again unassisted, Matt Schneider assisted by Delbert and Schneider closed out the scoring off a Nick Auck assist. Up next are the Oakville Tigers tonight at 5pm @ CBC.

The Griffins Swimmers and Divers accomplished theirs season-long goals of beating Chaminade and posting the best record in the MCC this season by downing the Red Devils 94-89 on Friday and running their final season record to 9-3, 3-1 in the MCC conference--tied for first place with SLUH. Nick Alexander and Sam Reynolds were double winners and Alex Feicht won diving. The 200 Medley Relay team of Alexander, Reynolds, Austin Hanse and Kevin Ogle qualified for State with a new school record time of 1:46.04. Nick Alexander also re-set 2 of his own school records. The team completes this week in the MCC Championships at Forest Park CC. Swimming prelims are 4pm Wednesday, Diving is 4pm Thursday and Swimming Finals are 4pm Friday.
