Your varsity Griffin soccer team brought home the District soccer championship last night by defeating Kirkwood 1-0 in thrilling fashion. After going back and forth with the Pioneers all game, it was junior Mike Albes who scored from the left wing with 3 minutes left on the clock. The Griffins advance to the State Sectionals sweet 16 and will host Francis Howell North next Tuesday at 7pm at Vianney.

Your Jr. Griffins are the champions! The B-soccer team concluded its season yesterday with a 2-nil win over the host CBC Cadets in the final of the CBC JV/B Soccer Challenge. It did not take long to get started; Joey Delbert scored 90 seconds into the game off a long pass from Anthony Christante. Then 14 minutes later Delbert was back at it again with a torching run down the right flank, spreading the Cadet defense thin before getting his cross to Sean Michel who headed into the back post netting for the insurance goal. Dakota Thorwegen earned the shutout with perhaps his best performance of the season. It was a team effort as ALL B-soccer players got in on the action and were able to enjoy their championship season. The Jr. Griffins finished at 18-2-2, with two tournament championships, scoring 68 goals - allowing ONLY nine against!
Congratulations B-soccer!
