Congratulations to Nick Macchi on being selected as an alternate for the MMEA District Band! There were only two positions open for Tenor Sax so it's an honor to be chosen among all of the tenor sax players in the St Louis Metro District.

 

The Griffin Swimmers were represented well at this year's MCC Conference Swimming Championships.  Medalists included Nick Alexander taking 1st Place in the 50 Free and 100 Fly with 2 new conference records and 1 new school record.  The 200 Free Relay of Ben Greene, Sam Biffignani, Drew Sandweg and Mitch Gerth medaled in 3rd place.  Other finalists included Jake Gauvain finishing 5th in both the 200IM and the 100 Fly and Ben Greene taking 6th in the 100 Breaststroke.  Rounding out the individual scoring were Greene and Gerth taking 11th and 12th in the 50 Free, Biffingnani and Chris Raeber taking 9th and 11th in the 100 Free, Paul Hoffman taking 12th in the 500 Free and Adam Bockskopf taking 10th in the 100 Breaststroke.   Despite waiting until their final swim of the season, the 400 Free Relay of Jake Gauvain, Sam Biffignani, Chris Raeber and Nick Alexander qualified the Griffins' third and final relay for the State Meet this coming weekend.  It is the second time the Griffs have taken all 3 relays to State.  The Missouri State Swimming and Diving Championships will this this Friday and Saturday at the St. Peters Rec Plex. "

Pro Life Trip to Washington:  Any student interested in applying to go on the March for Life trip in January may apply this week. Information is listed on the campus ministry bulletin board or you can see Mr. Kheriaty or Fr. Tim. Applications for the Pro Life trip are due Nov. 6th.

 

Attention juniors and seniors and their parents:  Join a Financial Aid representative from Saint Louis University this Thursday, November 5 at 7 pm in Vianney's Media Center to learn about financing a college education.  What are the sources of the money?  How much has to be paid back?  Get all of the details.  See you there!

Juniors and Seniors--this Friday, November 6, is the deadline to register for the December 12 ACT.  Go to:  actstudent.org to register.  Juniors who are in math this semester and seniors who want to improve their score for scholarship consideration should take this test.  See your counselor in the Leadership Center if you have questions.

 

Hans Mohr medaled in 10th, Brendan Flynn in 12th and Lucas Mead in 15th at the final team competition of the cross country season in the Webster Invitational.  Other medalists include Brendan Spinks, Patrick O'Keefe and Connor Grozovic.  In the Freshman race, Luke Miller was the top medalist for the Griffs followed closely by Alec Poulsen, Jake Galloway, and Paul Nicholson.  Congratulations to all on a great end to the season

This Saturday Zach Layton, Sam Moore, Joe Nelson, and Pat Trani compete in the sectional qualifier at Warrenton.  The race begins at 10:30
