FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1:

Wednesday the varsity chess team defeated the CBC Cadets by the score of 16.5 to 13.5.  Paul Nicholson, Brandon Stanfield and Lucas Mead scored for the Griffins.

The JV chess team lost to Alton 18 to 12 on Wednesday but Eric Ohlendorf and Mike Esswein won their individual games.

A reminder that the freshmen will have their class meeting during Encore today in the Fieldhouse.  

Attention JT Mossinghoff, Jake Berry, and Matt Cash:  Please check your email or have your parents check their emails for a message from Mrs. Kheriaty about the ACT prep course you registered for.  She needs to hear back from you.

Attention juniors:  Both of the ACT prep courses that start on January 4 are now full.  If you were hoping to take the course before your ACT in February, you can contact either Mrs. Kheriaty or Mr. Meyer to be placed on the waitlist, and it is possible that a spot may open up for you.  If you are also taking the ACT in April or June, there are still spots available in both of those courses.  

Attention Bocce Club Members:  If you ordered a ¼ Zip, you can pick it up anytime today in Room 107.  Also, anyone interested in playing the 6-week winter bocce session should see Mr. Alexander inRoom 107.  We will have a meeting when details are final.  New players are welcome.

Today is our Blood Drive. Everyone who made an appointment will receive in a few minutes your Blood Pass with your time on it. Please show this to your teacher at the time of your appointment and come down to the Activity Center with your social security number and i.d.

Winter spirit week is coming up quickly! As part of the week student teams will be selected to compete in a dodgeball tournament! Sign up on Mr. Lewis’ door to compete!

The freshman basketball team advanced to the finals of the Webster Groves Tournament with last night’s thrilling 42-39 victory over SLUH.  Dee’Andre Vance was the scoring leader on the night with 8 points, while Gabe Anderson and Timmy Galczynski both hit big three pointers for the Griffins.

The varsity basketball continues to play in the Vianney Invitational  tonight at 5:30 vs.  Farmington

Finally, Happy Birthday today to juniors, Max Hinton and Alec Paulsen, on Saturday to freshmen, Michael Bokern and Will Sinak and on Sunday to freshman, Ryan Carolan and sophomore, Steven Gibson.  We hope that you ALL have a great day on your special day.  Those are your end of the week announcements  Make it a great day to be a Griffin!
