Tuition & Affordability

Students meeting our academic criteria with their grades and test scores are automatically awarded a merit scholarship of $5,000, $3,500, or $2,500.

CURÉ D’ARS SCHOLARSHIP of $5,000

• Selects Vianney as his first-choice school
• Students must score in the 95th percentile or above; the list of accepted standardized tests are listed below. A national percentile is required for this scholarship.
• Minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA in core classes from the start of 7th grade through the first semester of 8th grade
• Demonstrates a commitment to community service
• Renewed annually if the student maintains a 3.75 cumulative GPA or higher at Vianney

MARIANIST SCHOLARSHIP of $3,500

• Selects Vianney as his first-choice school
• Students must score in the 90th - 94th percentile on a national standardized test. Students taking the MAP assessments may qualify with Advanced on the Achievement Level in both Math and Communication Arts.
• Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA in core classes from the start of 7th grade through the first semester of 8th grade
• Demonstrates a commitment to community service
• Renewed annually if the student maintains a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher at Vianney

FOUNDERS SCHOLARSHIP of $2,500

• Selects Vianney as his first-choice school
• Students must score in the 80th - 89th percentile on a national standardized test. Students taking the MAP assessments may qualify with at least Proficient on the Achievement Level in both Math and Communication Arts.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in core classes from the start of 7th grade through the first semester of 8th grade
• Demonstrates a commitment to community service
• Renewed annually if the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher at Vianney
   

* Standardized Tests Accepted, score used for determining scholarship:

• Iowa Assessments (ITBS): National Percentile Rank (NPR) in the Core Score
• Missouri Assessment Program (MAP): Students may use the achievement levels to qualify for the Marianist or Founders Scholarship. The MAP is not eligible to earn the Cure d'Ars Scholarship.
• High School Placement Test (HSPT): National Percentile in Total Basic Skills (TBS)
• Stanford Achievement Test: National Percentile Rank-Stanine (National PR-S) in the Basic Battery
• Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT): Total Percentile from the Grade Level Total
• Terra Nova: Average of the Total Math, Total Reading and Total Language National Percentile Rank (NPR)
• In addition to the above tests, students may also take a test offered by Vianney in the fall of a student's eighth grade year as an additional opportunity to qualify.

Vianney offers a summer work study program that allows students to work on campus at various maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and grounds work.

Students must be available to work Monday through Thursday for four hours between 8 am and 4:30 pm during June OR July.

Students can earn up to $1,000 through this program to offset their tuition for the coming school year.

There are a limited number of positions in this program, and they are available only to those with financial need. You will be notified in early May if your request is approved.

To be eligible, parents must complete a 2-step process:

1. Complete the Financial Aid Application.
2. Complete the Work Study Form below.

A multiple-son scholarship is available for families who have more than one son attending Vianney at the same time. Your family will automatically receive a $1,000 discount per student if you have two or more sons attending Vianney in the same school year.

This NEW legacy scholarship is available if the student's father or stepfather graduated from St. John Vianney High School and contributes to his student's high school education. Your family will receive a $1,000 discount annually per student beginning with the Class of 2028. Families should indicate that the father is an alumnus when submitting their admissions application.

The Missouri Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program, MOScholars, provides scholarships to Missouri students entering grades K-12 (including private, Catholic schools like Vianney) with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and/or students living in low-income households.

Selected students receive $6,375 awards per school year. 

MOSCHOLARS SCHOLARSHIP

The Today & Tomorrow Educational Foundation (TTEF) provides need-based scholarships to families in St. Louis and surrounding counties. As a partner school, students attending St. John Vianney High School are eligible to apply using the unified TTEF application.

TODAY & TOMORROW SCHOLARSHIPS

A 529 Plan is a type of investment account you can use for education savings, which is usually sponsored by individual states. Your earnings grow federally tax-deferred, qualified withdrawals are tax-free, and some states like Missouri and Illinois have other tax benefits as well.

Just about anybody can open a 529 account—parents, grandparents, other relatives, friends. As an account owner, you pick the investments and select the student beneficiaries. You can also receive a state tax deduction if you're a Missouri or Illinois resident.

You can make your payments to Vianney and reimburse yourself from your 529 Plan OR make withdrawals from your 529 Plan, have the check made payable to St. John Vianney High School, and send the payment directly to Vianney. 

Please ask your tax advisor how a 529 Plan can be used to pay tuition at St. John Vianney High School.

We offer annual (1), quarterly (4), and monthly (11) payment plans so you can select the option that best serves you. If you pay in full during the month of June, you will earn a 2% discount on the remaining balance after deducting your deposit and any financial assistance or scholarships.

The following charges may apply:

• Quarterly & Monthly Plans include a one-time administrative fee of $56.
• ACH Bank Transfers include a per-transaction service fee of 1% + $.30 with a maximum of $2.50 per transaction charged by Blackbaud Tuition Management.
• Credit & Debit Cards include a per-transaction service fee of 3.12% charged by Blackbaud Tuition Management. Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express are accepted.
