According to the Missouri State High School Activities Association, a student must have earned credit in 80% of the maximum allowable classes in which he can enroll in each semester in order to maintain his eligibility to participate in interscholastic athletics. If a student does not earn 80% of his credits in the fall semester, he will be ineligible throughout the entire spring semester. If a student does not earn 80% of his credits in the spring semester, he may have an opportunity to make up one credit during the summer to regain his eligibility for the fall semester.
