Some thoughts from members of Vianney's Board of Directors ...
Ken Allgeyer '86
Vice President and General Sales Manager, Fox Sports
I served on Vianney's board because of all the things Vianney has given me. I feel very strongly about the role Vianney played in my life, and I wanted other young men to have the same opportunity. My son was in the Class of 2014, and I liked the fact that he could see how important it is to me. It helped him appreciate the value of giving back.

I serve on the board at Vianney because it is my way of giving back to the school that has given so much to me. As a graduate myself and the parent of two recent graduates (Brett '12) and (Luke '16), I am very proud of Vianney and very excited about the future of this great school.

I truly value my experience as a Vianney student. I serve on the board to ensure that generations of young men have the opportunity to be part of the Vianney family, benefitting from academic excellence, a strong spiritual foundation in the Marianist tradition, and life-long friendships.
Corporate Vice President for Mission Integration, SSM Health Care
I serve because I sense the goodness of God every time I set foot on Vianney's campus. I serve in gratitude for Vianney's role in the formation of my sons Tim '05 and Andrew '06. And I serve because I want to ensure that a school dedicated to educating for faith, for service, and for adaptation and change, remains and thrives in the St. Louis community.
Fr. Thomas French
There is something unique and truly special about a Marianist Education that has faith and spiritual growth at the heart of academic and social learning. St. John Vianney High School offers a faith-filled experiences which helps prepare the students for a positive future. In a Marianist school, students are taught to be respectful and compassionate, and emphasis is placed not only on academic achievement, but on spiritual growth and the world community. I want to be part of that community.

I serve because I hope to impart what I have learned in more than 20 years as a CEO to aid the Vianney mission of preparing students for fulfilling, successful careers of leadership and balanced lifestyles in their chosen fields. I also want to help ensure that Vianney continues as an economically viable, relatively affordable institution.

I serve on the Board of Directors of St John Vianney High School to give back to an institution that gave so much to my son during his high school years. I believe strongly in the mission and values of Vianney, and I want to see Vianney continue to grow and touch many more young men's lives.

I serve because of the faith that the Marianists have placed in me as a leader in this outstanding Catholic, Marianist school. It is an awesome honor and responsibility to help young men prepare for life while helping them form meaningful relationships with Jesus Christ. I am blessed to share in the lives of our young men and their families.
Bro. Joseph Markel, S.M.

I am pleased to serve on Vianney's board because I believe that, of all the ministries the Marianists are engaged in, schools are still our most important and effective ministry.

I am pleased to serve on the Saint John Vianney High School Board of Directors in order to assist the Society of Mary, the administration, the faculty, and the parents of this outstanding Catholic school in preparing young men academically, socially, and spiritually. Serving Vianney in this capacity also allows me the opportunity to join other Board Members in safeguarding the value of a Catholic education, now and into the future."

I serve on the Board because I want to give back to an institution that provided me with an educational and spiritual platform to excel in business and also make philanthropy a priority. Nearly 45 years later, many of my fondest memories are from my years in high school. My continued association with Vianney allows me to support the future leadership of our region and our world.
Fr. Joseph Uvietta, S.M.

I have a long-standing interest in Catholic and Marianist schools, having learned in them, and having taught in them in Missouri, Illinois and Texas beginning in 1952. My hope is that I can make a real contribution to the Vianney family.

Choosing to attend Vianney has proven to be one of the best decisions of my life. I was mentored by men and women of faith which is a big factor in how I conduct myself, I developed lifetime friendships, and it influenced my choice of profession. “Vianney Family” is not a slogan, it’s a culture that can only be fully understood by those lucky enough to experience it. I’m proud to call myself a Griffin and I serve to make seemingly small contributions in comparison to what Vianney has given me.

I had a tremendous experience as a student at Vianney. Serving on the board allows me to give back to the school and help make it possible for other students to have a similar experience at Vianney.
