St. John Vianney High School

Freshman Retreat

On Thursday, September 26th, the Freshman class will travel to the Cardinal Rigali Center on Laclede Station Rd. The Cardinal Rigali Center is the main office headquarters for the Archdiocese of St. Louis and was the former home to Kenrick Seminary. The retreat, is centered on the four "Cardinal" human virtues of Temperance, Prudence, Fortitude and Justice. The virtues are not just religious vocabulary words but are very specific tools that will help form the Griffins to be the men God is calling them to be. We will discuss what it means to be a man in God's eyes as opposed to what it means to be a man in the eyes of the world. The retreat is designed to tie into the LINK program that all freshman will participate in.

The students will report to the Field House at 7:45am. From there they will depart. They may wear regular clothing provided it is appropriate for a retreat. We will return at 2:40. Lunch will be provided.
