Science Honor Society

The Science National Honor Society was founded to give recognition to high school students who have distinguished themselves in the Sciences. Its goals are to: 1) encourage and recognize scientific and intellectual thought, 2) advance student knowledge of classical and modern science, 3) aid the civic community with its comprehension of science, 3) promote participation in community service, and 4) encourage the pursuit of scientific knowledge to benefit all mankind. 

Eligibility: juniors and seniors who have met the following requirements:

  1. Maintains an overall GPA of 3.5 or better;
  2. Completes at least one science class each academic year;
  3. Receives a grade of A in each of:  Bio I or Bio I Honors and Chem I Honors;
  4. Completes one upper level honors science by the end of the junior year, and at least two total by the end of the senior year;
  5. Maintains a 3.75 GPA in science, with no grade less than an A in non-honors classes, and none less than a B in upper level honors classes.

Season: Throughout the school year

Meetings: Meetings will be announced in the Daily Bulletin
