Spanish Honor Society

Spanish Honor Society

The Spanish Honor Society (officially Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica) has been part of St. John Vianney High School for over 30 years. Sponsored through the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, the society exists to honor students who demonstrate high achievement in their Spanish studies and to promote the continued study of the language. We invite guest speakers who work directly with the Latino population to learn of the obstacles they face in our community and offer opportunities for students to volunteer their time outside of the classroom to interact with the Latino population. Students who received an A in Spanish 2 and who also continue on to Spanish 3 will be invited to the SHH. The students who complete Spanish 3 with an A will have their names submitted to the AATSP for formal recognition in the SHH. Students who continue on to Spanish 4 and receive an A will graduate with the maroon and gold cords of our chapter at graduation.

Club Moderator: Mrs. Ana Saldana (asaldana@vianney.com)
