"Seventh and eighth grade was a stressful time as I contemplated a big and important decision for my future; choosing the high school that was right for me. I had looked at several schools but I only shadowed at one: Vianney.
There was no question after my visit that I wanted to be a Griffin and live out the Marianist characteristics everyday and become a man of character and accomplishment. There wasn't another school that lived up to the way I felt about Vianney.
Vianney attracted me in many ways besides the fact that I had several of my uncles and close friends walk these halls. This school contained a family atmosphere and brotherhood that was second to none. I instantly felt at home. The transition was quite easy.
I was honored to receive the Vianney Alumni Scholarship and serve as a student representative for alumni events. Receiving this great scholarship has had a huge impact on my high school career, giving me countless opportunities and helping me to realize the values of service and dedication to the Vianney community. I have gained life lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I have thought of this as way more than just a scholarship. Since day one, Vianney has motivated me to get out of my comfort zone to try new things and serve God. In doing this I’ve found my strengths and weaknesses and proudly immersed myself in the Vianney community.
In my junior year at Vianney, I am currently involved in the following: Ambassadors, Griffin Guides, Open House tour guide, football manager, ice hockey, auction volunteer, 40 days for Life and Fishing Club. The Alumni scholarship has allowed me to experience and become involved in many amazing things that I will never forget. I don't know how to repay Vianney for the countless memories I have made and the amazing people I’ve met. I can easily admit that living as a man of character and accomplishment has become second nature to me and I am forever proud to be a Vianney Griffin." - Zach Adamec '20
"This scholarship has impacted my life in so many ways. It has allowed me to attend this great school.
There are so many interesting clubs and athletic programs here at Vianney, which I am very proud to be a part of.
There really is something for everyone here at this school, you just have to get involved and be open to try new things.
I have developed a deeper knowledge of my faith and have made some incredible friends along the way.
I have been blessed with so many outstanding mentors who devote their time day after day to help me reach my goals.
Every day I challenge myself to do better in my academics, athletics, etc., because of this scholarship and because it is so important to me.
I am so grateful to be able to be a Griffin. Vianney is not only helping to prepare me for college, but it is helping me prepare for life.
Without the scholarship, who knows where I would be." - Andrew Hartle '21
